If the ruling is the same from last year. Then yes. You may each throw the same disc from the lye, as long as when said disc is thrown the first time, it is marked prior to being picked up. Though Perhaps someone can snag Mikes attention for a official ruling.

I have been listening to some strategy and was startled to hear the following. Is this a legitimate tactic? The first team member throws a disc then marks and retrieves it so the other player can throw that same disc from the first (partners best) point. This would allow a 5 disc team to pick 5 discs they both like since both players could use the same disc on each throw.

Each team can choose from the 5 disc or 10 disc option. Therefore, there will be 2 Pro/Am1 levels (5 and 10) and there will be 2 Am2-Am4 levels (5 and 10). So wether you're playing for cash payout or plastic payout, you still have the option of 5 or 10 discs per team.
