About this tournament

Pre-registration required to compete in this tournament.

Update 5/10/26 — This event will be a PDGA-sanctioned C-Tier event. This will be an amateur, trophy-only event. Players will see the change on DiscGolfScene on Monday, May 11.

- This event is a part of the I-68 Disc Golf Tour.
- This is one of four "Majors" along the I-68 DGT, which means more points can be earned for winning or placing in your division.
- The other 3 Majors are:
- June 27: Checkered Chains Open by WMDG
- Oct. 11: Fall Foliage Fling by Fairmont Flyers DGC
- Dec. 5: Christmas at the Cove by the ACDGC
- A player must be "qualified" in order to compete for points on Dec. 5
- To qualify, a player must either (a) win his/her division in a regular I-68 DGT event, or (b) finish 1st, 2nd or 3rd in one of the first three I-68 DGT Majors.

- In 2026, the entire Sideling Hill Soiree festival will include four rounds.
- Friday, May 15: Glow round (singles)
- Saturday, May 16: Doubles (alternate shot) (morning shotgun start) (mixed doubles)
- Saturday, May 16: 1 p.m. Round 1 shotgun start (Round 2 should begin about 4:15 p.m.)
- The optional glow and doubles rounds will (a) not be sanctioned, are (b) open to anyone, whether they're in the two-round tournament or not, and (c) hopefully a bit of extra fun for all who choose to compete.
- The cost of the glow and doubles rounds are INCLUDED in each player's Sideling Hill Soiree entry fee.
- Entry will be $5 per person for those wanting to play either the glow round or doubles round ($10 for both).
.

Pre-tournament email will be sent the evening of Thursday, May 14.

Incentive to enter - drawing for $75 gift card to OTB East
- One thing we're doing to incentivize early registration is to offer each athlete a chance at a $75 gift certificate to OTB East. Here's how this will work:
- The free ticket to the drawing will be included in a player's entry into the main event of the Sideling Hill Soiree.
- The event is capped at 45 players. The first player registered will have their name in the digital hat 45 times. The second player to register will have their name in 44 times, and so on.
- If only 40 players register, for example, then the player who registered first will have their name in 40 times, the second 39, and so on.
- Those who register and then withdraw from the event, and who receive a full or partial refund, will not be eligible for the drawing unless and until they re-register for the event (at their new spot in line).
- Event staff are not eligible for the drawing.

Divisions
- Players who have earned a promotion to the next-highest PDGA division will automatically be moved up (for example, MA3 to MA2) based on the most recent ratings update.
- Likewise, a player has the option of moving down if they wish - that move is not automatic.
- If you don't see a division you'd like to sign up for, please email [email redacted] to request it.

Registration
- Cap of 45 players for each round.
- In general, card requests will not be honored.
- Players age 12 and under should be accompanied by a person age 16 or older. That person can be a player or non-player.
- For those 12 and under, please submit card requests during registration in the "notes/comments" section.

Entry fee
- $15 for Juniors/Women's divisions
- $20 for all others (including Juniors playing in adult divisions)
- Current ACDGC members: Email [email redacted] for a $3 discount code prior to completing registration.
- CTPs included (multiple divisions)
- This is a True Amateur, trophy-only event.
- $5 for glow round only
- $5 for doubles round only
- Completion of one round includes lifetime club membership (which makes you eligible for future club discounts)

Pass-through fees (per player)
- $4 TD fee (this goes to the ACDGC, not an individual)
- $3 PDGA fee
- Net entry fees are $8 for Women/Juniors division players, and $13 for others

Format for the Main Event on Saturday afternoon
- Round 1: 9 from the short tees, 9 from the long tees
- Round 2: 18 from the short tees
- MJ/FJ15 and younger will compete only in Round 2

CTPs included in entry fee

Volunteers
- We will have spotters on hole 8/17 to help spot discs. This should address 90 percent of the back-up issues we faced in 2025.
- The success of this event relies heavily on a small but dedicated group of volunteers. If you want to spend part of your Memorial Day weekend enjoying the great outdoors with great food and music, and awesome people, please send an email to [email redacted] with your information.
- We'll need people to fill positions at check-in, during the awards ceremony, and "disc spotting" during the event, among other areas.

Sponsors
- This event will not be possible without the support of local businesses and organizations that seek to support a competitive opportunity for athletes of all ages.
- There are eighteen (18) hole sponsor slots available @ $35 apiece.
- Each $35 sponsor slot includes 1 tournament entry
- There is one "presenting sponsor" slot available. Email [email redacted] for details on what you get for each sponsorship level.

Player packs
- A two-pack of Zanfel wipes ($10 value)
- Player pack items will be able to be selected in order of player registration.
- Players can begin making their selection upon arrival, prior to Round 1, and continue between Round 1 and Round 2 (while maintaining registration order).
- This is yet another incentive for people to sign up early.

Bathrooms
- Men's/Women's inside top floor
- Men's/Women's inside the bottom floor (walk outside to the back of the building, then inside (underneath the balcony area).

Timeline
- Sunset is 8:29 p.m. on May 24, 2025.
- No one is permitted to arrive for the 1 p.m. round on Saturday, May 16 prior to 12 noon.
- Round 1 will begin at 1 p.m., break for about 30 minutes, then Round 2 having a late-afternoon start to end early evening.
- Having a non-morning start time allows families/players from across the region to travel safely to Little Orleans in a timely manner. The delayed start time also allows younger players the opportunity to perform at their peak instead of being drowsy through the first round.
- The Saturday morning doubles round will begin at about 9:30 a.m.

The check-in process / Scoring
- Players will check in with Kevin once on site.
- Each player will be checked in on a clipboard holding a list of pre-registered players.
- Each player will be asked to check in at the start of each round on uDisc (this is for I-68 DGT, which is not regulated by the PDGA).
- Each player will keep score via the PDGA Live Scoring app.
- Players should let the TD know if they need a paper scorecard (bringing your own is never a bad idea).

Tiebreakers
- For first place in each/every division, as applicable
- Sudden death: Hole 9 until a winner (repeating Hole 9 as necessary)

Awards
- This is a True Amateur, trophy-only event.
- Trophies were ordered in early May based on pre-registered players.

PDGA rules apply
- This is a PDGA-sanctioned event.
- PDGA rules apply.
- Even the ones you don't agree with.
- By being an active PDGA member, and/or entering a PDGA-sanctioned event, a player agrees to abide by all PDGA rules (the ones you like, and the ones you don't).

About the course

- Tunnel shots, elevation changes, protected baskets and ace runs are what you can expect here. Oh, and trees. Lots of trees on holes 4, 5, 6 and 7 on each loop.
- Holes 1, 2, 3, 8 and 9 on each loop are open (though 1 and 3 do have some guardian trees). Holes 4, 5, 6 and 7 are in the woods.

- Hours of availability are restricted. Please respect that.
- The course is closed from Thanksgiving (Nov. 28) through Dec. 31 each year for the hunting season.
