Derek and I met with City parks yesterday. They said we can play but they won’t have signs or other finishing aspects installed by the 13th. We discussed emailing all tee signs to the players. The art is in the final stages and we will also update UDisc.. A few other challenges at the park are hopefully going to be resolved including some sod and trimming requests. At this time we were told we can play on the 13th

Shout out to Ivan, Kenny, Taylor, Joe, Derek, Jon, and any others I missed tonight on the preparations, markings, flagging, and general details completed on a Friday evening to ensure this over "sold-out" event is ready for us tomorrow on this inaugural event for our new Dreher Disc Golf Course...big Thank You to you guys and course looked great tonight!!

Everyone has a choice to pay & play, just like we all have a choice to be part of the solution versus the peanut gallery. If you really want change and different practices when it comes to tournaments, how they're structured, fee's, players pack, etc., then lean in and become a Tournament Director, an Assistant, a member of a Club's Board, or just a volunteer...then we have a real voice and can impact change. There's very few of us stepping up to organize, structure, run theses tournaments which I believe most is purely on a volunteer basis. I appreciate anyone supporting these tournaments because without these guys, there simply wouldn't be a tournament! The amount of time behind the scenes these guys invest, along with the politics and numerous meetings/discussions they navigate with the municipalities & park districts to promote our sport, allow us opportunities to compete, and generally be over-grown boys/girls is sooooo undervalued. I challenge each of us to volunteer to run/support a tournament before we criticize any county, club, or tournament being ran before and become the peanut gallery...myself included. I know most of these guys/gals will always listen to positive, constructive feedback so let's try to keep it that way until we've all done the work entailed to run one of these...
