WEATHER:
Saturday and Sunday will be in the upper 80s or low 90s. Shade and water will be at a premium. We bought 320 bottles of water and Tony Aimone is bringing a bunch more but you should still bring a ton of water and stay hydrated. We are not expecting any adverse weather this weekend but that could change quickly. If we feel the need for players to leave the course because of lightning, you will hear incessant honking from the parking lot and me screaming for you to come in. If you hear this - and let's hope you don't hear this - please mark your lie and leave the course immediately for one of the shelters or your car.

SCORING:
ALL players (or their caddies) are required to keep score. This is a helpful page:
https://www.pdga.com/news/how-score-2024-player-td-guidance
Most will embrace the changes and use their phones as the PDGA app is awesome and very useful for more than just keeping score. Those who are stuck in the past and insist on writing down their scores will be provided with a stone tablet and a chisel so that they can record scores. No... not really. Players who request a paper scorecard will be ridiculed mercilessly but they will receive them.
LIVE SCORING:
You can access the PDGA Live App or website:
http://www.pdga.com/score
The code is: Calvert99
Then you log in with your name or PDGA# and you are all set. Follow the instructions on the screen.
LAYOUTS and COURSE NOTES:
Calvert Road DGC is currently set up in tournament layout.
The parking lot and roads surrounding the park are always OB. The creek that runs along 14 and 18 is casual water and not out of bounds.
Drop Zones have been marked by the Mandos on the course. Mandos are RED ARROWS only with the exception of hole 1 which is a white wooden arrow. Please ignore any other arrows painted on trees.
These notes apply to all layouts:
Hole 1 – Mando to the Right of the Owl Statue. Must go right of ALL of the bamboo.
Hole 2
Hole 3
Hole 4
Hole 5 - Mando Left of Marked Tree(s) (applies to White and Blue pads)
Hole 6 - Double Mando
Hole 7
Hole 8
Hole 9
Hole 10
Hole 11 - Mando Right of Marked Tree
Hole 12
Hole 13 – Long Basket
Hole 14
Hole 15
Hole 16
Hole 17 – Mando Left of Marked Tree to Straight Basket
Hole 18
ORDER OF PLAY:
During the morning rounds on Saturday and Sunday, you will be playing 36 holes straight through. Please note: You will NOT play Red tees straight through and then play White tees unless you start on hole 1. You will play out the rest of the layout you are on and then switch to white for 18 holes and then switch back to finish the reds. For example, if you start on hole 10, you will play 10-18 Red. When you get to hole 1, you will switch and play Whites for 18 holes. When you get to hole 1 again, you will switch again and then play holes 1-9 reds. A simple thing to remember: You will switch layouts when you hit hole 1 and will never play the same color tee on 18 and then on 1. The hole numbers will have an R or W to denote the proper tee you should be on - just in case. If this does not make sense, please ask during the player's meeting.
RAFFLE TICKETS:
Raffle tickets will be available at Calvert throughout the weekend. We have a full size Innova basket and a traveler basket, three bags, tournament discs, apparel and more in our raffle for this year. Grannie’s DG Trophies kicked in a sweet slate plate. The raffle will be pulled Sunday prior to awards. You do NOT need to be present to win. Raffle prizes will be available at Calvert for pick-up for those who are not in attendance during the raffle. If you cannot get to Calvert, we will make arrangements for you to collect your prize. If you are not sure that you will stick around for the raffle, you are encouraged to put your full name and phone number or your PDGA # on your raffle tickets so that you can be notified if you win. Prices are $1 each or 6 for $5.
FUNDRAISER DISCS:
We went for it with the TFR discs and we are really pleased with the feedback we have gotten from those who have seen them. Innova Champion Discs absolutely nailed it. We still have SOME of each mold but they are going fast so shop early! Shrykes, Destroyers, Hawkeyes and Roadrunners. $20 each. Proceeds go to cover tournament costs and added cash.
It is entirely possible that we have forgotten something. If we didn't cover something that you are needing to know – and especially if you think others should know it - please do not hesitate to contact me by replying to this email or picking up the phone and giving Sam a call at 971-645-6371. Or text... because that is easier. If anything comes up that bears repeating, I will send a follow-up email.
Thank you all again and we look forward to some great competition!
