Good evening players,
We are looking at some fairly severe weather in the morning tomorrow. We have consulted the PDGA for advice in handling the situation and doing what we can to allow all players to finish the event. The weather is showing rain, but more importantly lightning in the morning between 8am-11am. Ideally we do not have any strikes nearby and we can play without interruption. To ensure we have enough time to get all players through round three we are pushing the starting time for the Pro Divisions to 8:00am. The Advanced field is smaller and will still tee at 9am as there will be more time available should we need to delay for lightning.
MP60 will begin teeing off at 8am. We hope that the early divisions will be able to play without delays, but should we have any, starting at 8am will give us the most amount of daylight to get all players to complete the round.
In the event that we have extended delays, we may move to shortened rounds in order for full divisions to complete the round. The PDGA requires 9 holes minimum for an official round and 13 for a rated round. We are going to do our best to make sure we have players complete a minimum of 13 holes, but we may have to make adjustments as the weather develops.
Please keep an eye on Disc Golf Scene Comments for any updates. Once play has started, we will communicate via the PDGA app all information about any delays. Three horn blasts will indicate a suspension in play. Players are to mark their lie (natural objects are acceptable) and seek shelter. At LHP, there are a number of pavilions that players can use for this purpose. Once a suspension of play is called it is a minimum of 30 min. before play can resume.
We truly hope weather conditions change, but we wanted to make sure players were aware of our plan and our intentions behind starting the Pro Divisions an hour earlier. Please email me if you have any questions or concerns. [email redacted]

We regret to inform players that we have to reschedule this year’s Trailblazer. Hurricane Milton wrought havoc on all three of our main courses. Champions Pointe had multiple trees down and is currently closed for play. The City of Clermont is working to clean the course and inspect it for safety concerns before reopening. Unfortunately they are unsure of the timeline for this process. The Green Gauntlet took the brunt of Milton’s wrath and there is some serious work to be done in order to repair the damage. The club will require city assistance to remove all the down trees and it is a similar situation where we are not sure yet when the city will be able to come out and help with this endeavor. While we were optimistic that we may get the courses ready before the event, at this time there are too many variables that are out of our control for us to confidently move forward with the original dates. We want to make sure the Trailblazer is a top tier event that truly showcases some of the best courses in the Southeast, and there is a tremendous amount of work to be done in order for us to uphold that standard.

We wanted to give people enough time to adjust any travel plans and cancel any lodging before it is too late. We have worked with the PDGA to reschedule the Am Weekend for January 4-5 and our Pro Weekend will now be held January 17-19. We hope that you all will be able to attend on the new dates. If you cannot make these new dates, please submit a refund request and we will issue a full refund. We appreciate your understanding as we work to rebuild after Milton and we look forward to seeing everyone out on the course. Be Bogey Free.
