More details will come closer to the event. We don't want to publish too much too soon since the golf course is not open exclusively to us until the day of the event but the golf course has told us we'll have the course available for practice on Saturday.

What is the general design plan for the course? Will we be teeing from concrete, grass or other pads ... show more ›

What is the general design plan for the course? Will we be teeing from concrete, grass or other pads? Roughly how many hole will plan near/over water? Is there an estimated par for the layout (about how many par 4s and 5s will be a part of the layout)

(again, I know that much of this is likely not finalized, but any information over and above 'its on a golf course' would be helpful to any folks who want to prepare for more than the week of the tournament. Even tentative thoughts or ANY information helps)

We matched divisional limits based off of previous attendance at this event and other similar events. This is the first time we’ve ever had a waitlist for FA1. We’ll definitely keep this demand in mind for next year

Allotting ~5% of the amateur slots for females when the state has ~11% female players is pretty atrocious. They keep using the "historical" attendance answer as their scapegoat but it just doesn't hold any water. Don't try and call them out on it though cause they'll just delete your message ;)

Aaron, when is the last time you ran an event, much less one with over 100 players? Do you understand everything that goes in to it? Over the past 4 years, Scott and I have ran 30 PDGA sanctioned events(15 B-tiers, 14 C-tiers and a DGPT Event), and we have never(we actually went back and checked) had an Amateur Female division have a waitlist much less ever had one fill up. This is the first time we’ve experienced this kind of demand for this division at one of our events. All we can do now for this one is in future years set more spots aside. I’d love to add more spots to this one but the PDGA prevents us from using ghost groups now so we have no way to expand the field. We also have a presenting sponsor who has donated thousands of dollars worth of merchandise to give everyone a sweet players pack, am I supposed to expect them to give me more? In 2023 we’re hoping to triple the size of this event. I’ll make the commitment right here for you that we’ll offer 8x the amount of female amateur spots next year. If they fill I’ll be stoked when we have that many players that want to play and we’ll increase the size of the field again for the year after that if it fills. So far we’ve been doing it for years and the numbers do check out that the demand hasn’t been there. This year things changed, we’ll adjust for next year’s events. Currently we don’t have availability for practice rounds the day before. We’re trying to work with the golf course to make that available in the afternoon on Saturday but at this time only will be available for the tournament.
