Pot of Gold Disc Golf Tournament Social Distancing and Site Plan
This is a disc golf tournament where traditionally players pick up their player’s packs, attend a players meeting, compete in a disc golf tournament, and then attend an awards ceremony. Many guidelines and suggestions have been published by the Professional Disc Golf Association in accordance with the WHO and CDC. These changes are reflected in the Social Distancing and Site Plan below.
Player Check in- Players will virtually check-in to the tournament using the PDGA website. Payer packs will be distributed between 7:00 am and 8:45 using a drive up and drive off method with no more than one car receiving their player items at a time. Three volunteer staff will hand out the player items while wearing gloves and masks during the drive through player pack pick up. Drivers and riders will stay in their vehicle while retrieving their player items. No walk ups will be allowed. If a player does not get their item during this check in time, they may get it after the first round as they leave the course. This will take place next to the large parking lot near shelter 6.

Players Meeting and tournament information- There will be no players meeting or mass gatherings during the tournament. All tournament information will be distributed electronically to all players prior to the start of the event and also posted to the New Orleans Disc Golf Club Facebook page. Any required updates will be posted to the Facebook page or emailed to the participants.
Tournament Play- Only five players per card. Players will report to their pre-designated holes and be ready to tee-off by 9:00. Players must maintain 6 ft. or more distance from each other. Players should not touch discs, bags, carts, or any other property belonging to another player. Players are authorized to have one person caddy for them if needed. No additional spectators are allowed to follow along with the groups. Once scores are finalized and submitted, players will leave the course immediately to take a lunch break and prepare to start their second round. Approximately 1.5 hours will be allowed between rounds. Official tee times will be posted to the event facebook page for each respective pool of participants. Participants will be responsible to bring and control their own food and water for the entire day. Players will again report to their designated starting hole at the specified time for the second round.
Scoring- One player in each group will take score using the PDGA digital scoring website. This method of scoring will reduce the amount of contact between people and expedite scoring for the tournament. A paper copy will be issued with the player items only as a backup due to cell phone signal loss or low battery.
Trophies and Awards- There will be no award ceremony for this tournament. All players must leave the park at the conclusion of the 2nd round. Pro players will be paid their winnings via paypal. Winning players will pick up their trophy on the way to their vehicles. The winning players will maintain social distancing of no less than 6ft apart from each other and only one person at a time will retrieve their items while the Tournament Director verifies the winners.
Waiver- All participants will have to agree to this waiver in order to participate in the tournament.
"I understand that participation in this event carries with it risk of injury or death and I, on behalf of myself, my heirs, administrators, executors, and assigns expressly release, forever discharge, and hold harmless the New Orleans Disc Golf Club, Tony DeFrates, the PDGA, and the Parish of Jefferson it’s departments and employees (the "Releasees") for all personal injury, loss, damage to property, or death in connection with my participation in this event.
