Hello everyone, first off I want to say thank you all for your patience! This has not been easy to coordinate with everything going on lately.
After a few more conversations we are finalizing the last details for the tournament, and with a few more adjustments we should be able to open registration this Friday, on June 12th at 10am here on the discgolfscene website. We will be limiting registration to foursomes only which will help cut down on the exposure to other households, and with a max of 50 event participants...that means only 12 cards will be available.
While we still plan on having a keg and pizza for the players after the round, that portion will have to be a little different than in years past. We can still have a keg and serve beers with distanced serving, but Skibowl will not be able to accommodate a pizza buffet. This means that each card will get their own Ratskeller pizza, and upon registration you will pick out your pizza ahead of time. Get with the folks on your card and ask them what their choice is, since we won’t be able to make pizza topping changes on the fly. Pizza options are limited to: Pepperoni, Buffalo Chicken Ranch, “The Rat”, and Veggie Supreme
We have always had Discraft discs in the players packs, but this year we will be doing a limited run of the more popular discs as a separate for-sale item. Rather than allowing players to randomly sort through the big disc pile at the tournament central check in booth, each card will get the opportunity to purchase up to four discs along with their player pack at the time of registration. This keeps the overall registration fee more reasonable, and allows players to choose a disc ahead of time if they would like one for their bag or for a keepsake. Keep in mind that there is a limited amount of discs and molds, first come first serve at time of registration. Any discs not sold during registration will be available at the tournament central the day of the tournament.
Registration will be $160 for the foursome and the Player Pack Includes: Four Lift Tickets, Large Ratskeller Pizza for the foursome, and Hosted Keg after the round, (Discs sold separately). We will also still be doing a raffle, but it will be much smaller and simpler for the players!
While this may not be ideal for everyone, we’re trying to still provide a fun and safe opportunity to make it up to Skibowl and play some disc golf. Kind of a bummer that a pandemic ended up falling on the tenth annual year for the Powgnar Classic, but we are going to make due and keep the train rolling. We also have not secured much in the realm of sponsorships, so if you know of any companies looking for some exposure feel free to send them our way!

Bummer, Ziggy. Thanks for giving it so much effort. This gives me a year to practice up...Powgnar Forever.
