The 2020 Harry Myers Sprint is a singles speed disc golf tournament.
Two divisions: Mens & Womens. Base purse for each division is $50. 100% payout of entry fees. Payout follows PDGA structure.
Entry fee is $5
Rules:
1. Players will be spaced out at 2 minute intervals. (I will give each competitor at least 2 minutes separation and more if there are fewer entrants). Players will start at a designated location and will finish at the same location.
2. Each competitor will be timed from start until they cross the finish line. The player must start and finish with their equipment, they must also carry their own equipment.
3. Each competitor will be assigned a number that determines their start position and that will be used to track their time during the event.
4. One stroke is scored equally to one minute (i.e. shooting a 60 in 30 minutes and 15 seconds would result in an overall speed disc golf score of 1:30:15).
5. Each stroke under par deducts 15 seconds from your total time.
6. There is no O.B., however, a player can at their own discretion declare a disc lost and re-drive with a one stroke penalty. All "lost" discs can be picked up and remain in use.
7. A lost disc requires the player to re-drive from the Tee or previous lie. If the player drives and feels their disc is lost but isn't sure, they should throw a second disc and play it (i.e. take a provisional).
8. No two-meter rule.
9. There is no limit on the number of discs a player can carry (disc management is a skill).
10. You may use another disc in place of a mini.
11. In the event one player catches another, then these additional rules will be in play to ensure safety and good sportsmanship.
a. The player farthest out must clearly call "throwing" before throwing. It is the duty of the farther out player to make sure the closer in player hears their call. The closer player does not have to yield the hole, but must make every effort to stay clear of the throw. In the event that the closer in player interferes with the thrown disc, they will receive a one stroke penalty.
b. If both players approach the basket at the same time, the first player to their disc has the hole, the distance of the discs from the basket does not matter; however, if the players arrive at their discs simultaneously, the out player has the hole. In the event that the first player misses the putt, the second player putts before the first player putts again.
c. If both players approach the Tee at the same time, the first player to the box has the hole. However, if the players arrive at the Tee simultaneously, the out player has the Tee.
12. This event is on the honor system. Each player is responsible for keeping track of their own score on the provided scorecard. If a player forgets to score a given hole they will be given 10 strokes for that hole. less
