Thanks to the 23 die-hard (and crazy) disc golfers who came out in the bitter cold for the Prodigy Par2 Event at Sims Park Disc Golf Course!! Congrats to Dave Hotchkiss for taking the win and the tourney bag, Lucas Kreps for snagging 2nd, and Rick Falstreau for landing in third! Corey Hill won the Ring of Fire for the starter bag, and CTPs were claimed by Mickey Anderson, Don DeMoss, and Bill Adamini. And another thanx to Beach Club Bistro and Eric Wernet for letting us warm up after with some great food and drinks!! Good times and good people, that's all i can ever ask for :)

Ribbon and tape will be on hand to help track discs through the snow. As of now, there is 3" - 6" on the ground. All holes will be made to have no blind shots (for the most part), but spotters can also be used on each card to help keep things moving. It will be very cold, so please come prepared. Below is a list of the tee locations for the shortened layout:

Prodigy Par2 Event Tee Locations

Hole 1: On hill behind pavilion
Hole 2: On beach straight on from basket
Hole 3: Hole 4 Tee
Hole 4: Directly to right of Hole 3 basket
Hole 5: Edge of hill in front of bushes
Hole 6: Standard Tee
Hole 7: Hole 8 Tee (in reverse)
Hole 8: In front of bushes and trees on right side of fairway
Hole 9: Halfway up near bushes in middle of fairway
Hole 10: At edge of treeline on left of fairway
Hole 11: On right side of fairway
Hole 12: On left side of fairway, basket deep (near gravel path)
Hole 13: Near pine trees in middle of fairway
Hole 14: At edge of bushes on right side of fairway

Weather forecast for the event is very cold and possibly some snow, with some already on the ground. Please be prepared, as this event will go on as scheduled. It will be 1 round of 20 shortened holes, followed by a Ring of Fire. Seeing as the discs are white, I may bring some ribbon to use. If I don't get ribbon, spotters can be used from each card. There will be no blind shots, as all baskets will be within sight for each hole, with distances between 90-150 feet. This should help ensure no discs are lost.

There is officially less than one week left to register for the Prodigy Par2 Event at Sims Park on 2/13/16!! $25 for 2 glow putters (PA1 and PA3), a winter cap, and sticker, with one round of a very shortened layout at Sims with holes between 90-150 feet. The winner will get a Prodigy Tournament bag, and there will be a few other prizes up for grabs, including a Prodigy Starter bag in a Ring of Fire and a few CTPs. Course Update:

Just stopped down to scope out the conditions at the course, and I'm happy to say there is less snow than by my house. At most there is 1-3" on the ground, as a good bit has blown off. There will most likely be some drifts near the hills and whatnot, but it is not deep as I had originally thought. Not much (if any) snow is expected tonight, but the cold is there and won't be leaving. So please be prepared. Bring gloves and dress warm. The wind chill will be below zero, so it will be very cold on the 4 holes right near the lake. We will only be playing one round of 20 holes, so I'm hoping that this will take only about 2 hours tops. But be prepared regardless.
