Something to think about before we draw for matches on Friday. Last year we had a side competition between the clubs and 'seeded the brackets accordingly.' The way the field has shaped up we could do this again assembling four, 4-man teams as follows:
MtP: Josh, Nacho, Craig, Leonard
GR/BlueGill: Dan, Matt, Bob
BC/KZO: Pat, Brendan, Mark & Scott (or Mark)
FSU: Bryan, Josh, Xavier, Tony

Format as follows: Field is set at 16. Matches randomly drawn at Brewster's at 6:00 Friday. Tee off set for 9:00 a.m. Saturday. Matches for the round of 16 and the round of 8 will be decided by two ba ... show more ›

Format as follows: Field is set at 16. Matches randomly drawn at Brewster's at 6:00 Friday. Tee off set for 9:00 a.m. Saturday. Matches for the round of 16 and the round of 8 will be decided by two back-to-back 12 hole rounds beginning on randomly assigned holes. Final Four will tee off at approximately 3:00 p.m. and play back-to-back 12 hole rounds to determine 1, 2, 3, and 4 finish. The other 12 tournament players will play one 18 hole round of random-draw doubles.

Seeking thoughts on an idea. Let's say we have 15. One option is for the threesome to have one person randomly receive a bye, then wait until the match between the two has finished. Another option would be to play a three-way match with the ultimate goal of producing one player who would advance ... I'm thinking a three-way match would be scored as follows: A player would get one point for every player he beats. Should all three tie the hole, no points scored. So, a person could get 0, 1, 2, or 0.

The top 8 match play points winners listed below pay a fee of $50.
All other match play points winners pay a fee of $75.
Anyone not having participated in MiMPA sanctioned match-play events and who have won no points pay a registration fee of $100.
