Due to human impact, the town and forrest service have worked together on the decision to close camping along Vasquez Creek. The overwhelming factors that led to this are high volumes of garbage not being packed out, human waste not being properly handled near a water shed, and increased fire danger. There are many other national forrest service areas that are open to camping, and I believe the Vintage lot at the resort is once again allowing RV camping.

The condition people left this area is really sad and disgusting. Try the G lot. It is where people go in the winter. Maybe Lone Pine but you would be pretty obvious. The Idelwild camp ground across the hwy is really nice. It does cost a few bucks but you wouldn't have to leave your waste in the woods.
