In case you've registered and didn't receive the email I just sent:
Hey Piper Fam! Gettin' ready for a big one this year, and cannot wait. To that end, I will be sending out this and one more email. This one is your overview of the event. The second one will serve as your "caddy book".
1). I am FINALLY ready for card requests. If you've already sent one, I'm not gonna lie- I didn't even read it. So reach out to everyone you want to play with, verify everyone agrees, and ONE PERSON EMAIL YOUR REQUEST to [email redacted]. Also, we are using UDisc for scoring, so please be sure that at least one person on your card has the app and can track scores. Finally, we encourage mixed division cards and will try to compose cards accordingly. If you have a full card though (5 people), you do you.
2.) EXTRAS:
a: T-Shirts, Hoodies and Grips 6 belts will be available to order at the event and picked up at BRP or Kaposia Pro Shops. I will send out a notice to anyone who orders when they come in. Cash, Paypal or Venmo will work on site for this. T-Shirts and hoodies can also be ordered ahead of time through the following link:
https://piperclassic.itemorder.com/shop/home/ This link will be open until the 27th if you want to order early. I won't make any guarantees, but there is a possibility that early orders might be available at the tournament.
b:BEER!!! Yes, the Piper has our own beer. For those 21+, samples will be available as part of your entry. But crowlers will be available for a $10 cash donation to the event.
c: Raffle! We will also have a cash raffle for a BADA$$ Titos rolling cooler, $5 per entry or 3 for $10.
3.) Lunch will be pulled pork sliders on Hawaiian buns and the traditional spicy crawfish boil with corn and red potatoes. The crawfish and pork will be cooked separately from the corn and potatoes for those with food restrictions. But, because of the size and nature of our event, that's about the only dietary accommodations we can swing.
4.) Layout: We have upped the layout from two rounds of 15 to two rounds of 18 for the first ever 36 hole layout at BRP! These will be shortened, technical holes and we anticipate it to play pretty fast. For those intimidated by this, keep in mind we're not increasing the length of the layout (or if we do, not by much). We're just getting shorter, faster play holes to allow for more players. For the try-hards among you, Ray should have the layout set up in time for Thursday Leagues. So if you want to get practice rounds in, that will be when you can do it without exposing your dark, shameful ambition. I know I will.
5.) Camping: If you've never camped at BRP you've missed out hard. Ray ain't stingy with the firewood. Camping is available on site for $10/night per person, paid at the Pro Shop. Fort Piper is THE place to be after the tournament. And before it too- we have some folks showing up as early as Wednesday!
6.) Refund reminder: Refunds are on the table through midnight Friday. After that, your money goes to the Tiger.
7.) Super Secret Star Wars Challenge: Is the force strong in you? Then if you play your ENTIRE ROUND (yes, putts as well) with either a Discraft Force (any plastic) or an Innova STAR Destroyer (only star plastic qualifies) we have a separate prize pack you could win. Score doesn't matter- everyone who manages it will get entered into a small raffle for the pack. This is a separate prize from whatever you might win in your division.
8.) As of this email, we still have 14 spots left. So if you know any stragglers, get on 'em! When we were at 30 holes I was open to squeezing in ghost cards. But we're gonna have a LOT of people out there so once we cap that's it!
9.) I probably forgot something! Don't even know what it is, but I'm sure there's something. So follow along on our Facebook page to stay updated.
