Hoping I can make it out this year, just not sure my work schedule yet. Nothing to do with it starting on the 4th though, keep the tradition alive and ignore the hate! You'll never make everyone happy as a TD, one of the main reasons I don't do it lol. Don't listen to the BS, love ya dude and thanks for all the work and effort!

I get that 4th of July is on a Friday this year, and you want to have it as close to that the 4th as you can....but does that really out weigh the fact that many people probably have plans that day? I ... show more ›

I get that 4th of July is on a Friday this year, and you want to have it as close to that the 4th as you can....but does that really out weigh the fact that many people probably have plans that day? It's a major holiday, and I would guess most people with a family likely have plans with their family that day. So the choice is telling your family that this year, we aren't celebrating like we usually do cuz I want to do my hobby, or skip this year. It just seems to me (I know I'm not involved in making decision, nor do I want to be) that it would be more important to make this available to people, rather than keep the tradition of having ON the weekend. In fact, it seems that you are making it 3 days for the purpose of making it available to as many people as possible. So this decision seems to contradict that sentiment.

So no hard feelings if it won't change, but I figured I'd shoot my shot to try to make it possible for me to play

Why does this tournament start on the 4th of July??? A LOT of people won't be playing this event because they have plans on the 4th.
Why can't this event be 2 rounds on Saturday, Final round on Sunday, like in years past?
I think it's irresponsible to make people choose between playing this tournament, and holiday plans.
