Welcome to our USDGC Doubles Qualifier at Statesboro - Bullock Disc Golf Course. The USDGC Doubles Main Event is an amateur disc golfer's only opportunity to compete at the famed Winthrop Arena Course decked out in all its USDGC Pageantry. If you want to test your mettle on one of the most challenging courses in the world, this is your chance. So, get qualified and let's see how you and your partner fare in the arena.
Doubles is a great way to enjoy the game and also a great opportunity to earn a large number of points to help qualify for Worlds events, more than typically available for singles competitions.
Qualifying teams will be based on the following criteria for number of teams signing up:
Men
1-14 Teams = 1 Team qualifies.
15-24 Teams = 2 Teams qualify.
25+ Teams = 3 Teams qualify.
Women
1-4 Teams = 1 Team qualifies.
5-9 Teams = 2 Teams qualify.
10+ Teams – 3 Teams qualify.
I've slotted room for 8 Women's teams to register but will open up more Men's division spots as it gets closer to tournament day depending on female participation in the event.
Entry Fee: $70.00 per team regardless of division
Pass through costs included -
$15 per team goes to USDGC Doubles to cover a premium custom-stamped disc per player and premium trophy medals for the teams who qualify.
$5 per team goes to course rental costs.
$8 per team goes to PDGA fees, an additional fee of $10 per player for non-registered PDGA members is also required.
The remaining funds will go toward cash CTP's along with the sponsor funds.
I'm glad to say VOS electric has again sponsored this event and we'll be adding $500 to the CTP prize pool because of that. I'm hoping we'll have 27-$30 CTP's for everyone to take a shot at.
Rounds:
Men's divisions will be playing 27-hole Orange Layout and 18-hole Black Layout
Women's divisions will be playing 27-hole Blue Layout and 18-hole Blue Layout
We will be starting at 9:00AM, Saturday morning.
