The USDGC Doubles team is thrilled to announce exciting updates for the 2026 USDGC Doubles Qualifier Series, aimed at growing participation and expanding opportunities for amateur disc golfers across the country.
2026 Season Updates
Beginning with the 2026 season, the USDGC Doubles Qualifier Series and Main Event will now include the following PDGA Divisions:
MA1 (Mixed Amateur 1)
FA1 (Women’s Amateur 1)
MA2 (Mixed Amateur 2)
FA2 (Women’s Amateur 2)
MA40 (Mixed Amateur 40+)
FA40 (Women’s Amateur 40+)
These additions mark a major step forward in making the USDGC Doubles experience more inclusive and representative of the growing amateur disc golf community.
In addition to new divisions, the USDGC Doubles team is also adjusting the thresholds required to award multiple qualifying spots at each qualifier event—making it easier than ever for players to earn their way to Rock Hill, South Carolina, for the prestigious USDGC Doubles Main Event held the first weekend of October.
2026 Qualification Breakdown
MA1 & MA2 Divisions
1–5 teams → 1 team qualifies
6-10 teams → 2 teams qualify
11+ teams → 3 teams qualify
FA1, MA40 & FA40 Divisions
1–3 teams → 1 team qualifies
4-7 teams → 2 teams qualify
8+ teams → 3 teams qualify
These new thresholds will replace the previous field size requirements used in past seasons, ensuring more competitive opportunities and rewarding strong participation at every level.
“The USDGC Doubles Qualifier Series has always been about giving amateur players a chance to experience the excitement and prestige of the USDGC stage,” said Event Co-Director Dave George. “By expanding our divisions and adjusting qualification thresholds, we’re making sure even more players have that opportunity in 2026.”
Qualifier tournaments will continue to be held at courses nationwide, offering players a chance to earn their spot at the Main Event in Rock Hill, South Carolina, where the best amateur doubles teams will compete during the first weekend of October. Host courses for the Main Event competition tentatively will be the Riverbend Course at Camp Canaan, Westminster Park, and the legendary Arena Course at Winthrop University and the newly constructed Catawba Bend Preserve.
