About this tournament

2021 Triple Threat - Sponsored by DiscFlow & Chimmi’s Hot Sauz
Triple Threat is an exciting event that puts your disc golf skills to the test! Players will compete to see who has the skills to be a triple threat. Your combined score comes from completing three fun challenges: one round of disc golf, a putting challenge, and a distance challenge. This is your opportunity to drive for dough, and putt for show!
The one-day event will be played at the Thorncliffe Disc Golf Course; register to play on either May 8 or 9, 2021 the first round will start at 9am and the final round will start at 5pm This event is open to everyone - men, women and, juniors!
This is a fundraising event; your registration fee will go towards Calgary Disc Golf Club’s future course development efforts and special events. The cost to register is $25.00. Players will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win some great prizes! Registration for Triple Threat closes on May 5, 2021.

The safety and well-being of the community, players, and volunteers are top of mind. In addition to the event’s rules, participants must follow the event’s Covid-19 protocols including, but not limited to the pre-event health check survey, physical distancing, wearing face coverings, and no gatherings. Failure to comply will result in a permanent ban for all future events and disqualification from the event with no refund.
Triple Threat Challenge #1: Disc Golf Round
The round of disc golf will consist of the front nine holes at Thorncliffe. Tee times (start times) and starting hole will be communicated to players at least two days before the start of the event.

Players will record their scores using the Udisc app. It is the player’s responsibility to finalize their score once the round is over. The scores will be posted on the event page.

Triple Threat Challenge #2: Putting
After your round of disc golf you will move directly to one of the two putting stations. Each player will be required to complete both putting stations.
Putting Station #1:
This station will use a marksman-style basket. You will start putting from a mark 10 foot away from the basket. Marks will increase using 10 foot increments. Points will be awarded to the player based on the putting distance completed after five putts
Putting Station #2:
The player will be putting from various compromised positions ranging from easy to difficult to a normal basket. Each player will get five putts, and points will be awarded based on difficulty of putts completed.
Triple Threat Challenge #3: Distance Competition
Have you ever wondered how your drive stacks up to a professional player? Rob McLeod, a.k.a. Frisbee Rob, is the Canadian Distance Record Holder with a throw of 712 feet. He also has 6 Guinness World Records and 13 World Championships. Rob has graciously agreed to let us measure his throws and arm speed when it comes to distance giving you a unique opportunity to see how you throw against a pro.
The distance competition will be based on throwing one distance driver (disc speed 7 -15), one midrange (disc speed 4-6), and one putter (speed 3 or lower). Your score will be based on a combined measurement of all three throws using the three discs. Your throws will also be measured for your arm speed.
