PLAY DISC GOLF IN TRANSYLVANIA
Transylvania Open 2026 is a 3-round PDGA C-tier tournament hosted at Hillside Transylvania, near Odorheiu Secuiesc, Romania.
Set on a hillside above the city, the course offers a rare playing experience shaped by elevation, open terrain, sloped landing zones, wind, and panoramic views over Odorheiu Secuiesc, the surrounding plateau, and the Transylvanian hills. With fairways spread across several elevation levels and vegetation placed just where it matters, Hillside Transylvania rewards both distance and control.
Transylvania Open 2026 welcomes players from all over the world for a memorable weekend of competition, travel, and the rare chance to throw from the top of Transylvania.
EVENT FORMAT
The tournament will follow PDGA C-tier rules and standards for scoring, divisions, and tournament flow. Players will compete over 3 rounds.
All registered players will receive a player pack containing one official Transylvania Open 2026 tournament disc. We are also working on adding selected local snacks and artisan surprises or souvenirs to this. The registration fee supports the player pack, event organization, and course maintenance for the tournament weekend.
We are also preparing special prizes and side challenges, including CTP, ace prizes, and other memorable-shot awards. The discs for the skills challenges are generously sponsored by TPF Discs Amsterdam, owned by Dean Schaub.
Players are invited to join us for a Day 0 barbecue party before the tournament begins — a relaxed chance to meet other players, discover the venue, and enjoy the Transylvanian setting together.
MAKE IT A TRANSYLVANIAN TRIP
Odorheiu Secuiesc is a charming resort town in Szeklerland, a beautiful multiethnic region of Romania with a rich history, distinctive local culture, mountain landscapes, traditional food, and many nearby attractions to discover.
The town is well positioned for players who want to combine tournament play with a short holiday in Transylvania. Historic destinations such as Sighișoara, Brașov, Târgu Mureș, medieval towns, fortified churches, castles, thermal springs, spas, mountain areas, and scenic villages can all be part of a longer trip around the tournament weekend.
Harghita County also offers plenty of outdoor and family-friendly activities, including Via Transilvanica / Terra Siculorum routes through Szekler villages and rolling hills, kayaking on Zetea Dam, rafting on the Târnava Mare, boat rental on Lake Saint Ana, Via Ferrata climbing, canyoning, bike tours, off-road tours, horse riding, hot air balloon rides, mountain cart, spa and wellness options in Borsec and Praid, as well as local food and craft experiences.
