Do you have what it takes to play disc golf in Vermont in January...again?!

Lumberjack Disc Golf and Pittsford Recreation Department are pleased to present the THIRD annual Sugar Hollow Ice Bowl!

Once again we will be raising money to benefit the Pittsford Food Shelf. They have expressed their gratitude for our continued work, our efforts make a real difference there. As you may know, we donated over $8K last year. The Ice Bowl organization keeps track of all donations, globally. With your help we  finished 11th in the world in funds raised! We aim to build on that success and have set a goal of $10K this year, while that's a big goal, with everyone's help at think it's achievable.

FIRST 35 PLAYERS TO SIGN UP RECEIVE A COMMEMORATIVE DISC
Each registration also includes a $5 buy in for Ring of Fire! You're already in, and you could win big! We'll do this right after lunch, before The Nine.

The Nine is our shortened second round with closest to pin prizes on every hole and the format is going to shake things up a bit. More info to come.

We will once again be running our 50/50 where you could clean up for cheap!

Mulligans will be for sale along with our SMASH addition to last year's offerings...
drum roll ...NULLIGANS will be available again this year to really add a new dimension to the competition.

If you'd like to make a separate donation or solicit donations to our Gofundme that would be incredible! The link for that is right here:

We are closing registration this year at 6PM Friday January 16 in order to have time to put everything together, so sign up early!

Please encourage your friends that don't have or don't check social media, but may want to play, to sign up soon!

Come out and join us, there will be refreshments at the pavilion and we will have some space heaters to serve as a warming station.

What is an Ice Bowl®?

An Ice Bowl® is a disc golf event, most  typically held in winter, with a mission to increase local awareness of disc golf by raising funds for local and regional charities, with an emphasis on fighting food insecurity.

Many Ice Bowls emphasize fun over competition, while burnishing a positive image for disc golf and disc golfers through publicizing the charitable fundraising with timely news releases. Ice Bowl began in 1987 as a single tournament in Columbia, Missouri in an effort to publicize the fledgling sport and to get more people playing. Raising funds for charity was added as a very significant component of Ice Bowl in 1996. Since then, over $7M has been raised, including almost $470,000 in 2025.

Here are the three historical Ice Bowl® “rules” that convey Ice Bowl’s spirit:

1. Under no circumstances, may an Ice Bowl® be cancelled or postponed because of weather conditions.

2. No wimps or whiners are allowed.

3. There are no excuses for not attending. Either be there or be called out as a wimp!

An emphasis on rule number two this year as we had someone do both of those things upon arrival last year. This is should be a fun event first and foremost, and for a great cause!
While Rules 2 and 3 are “inviolable,” recent winters have taught us that sometimes cancellations are warranted.
Defying the conditions is a big part of the fun, but Mother Nature may force Rule 1 to be broken; public safety is of the utmost importance and should guide your decision to hold your event if conditions are too severe or dangerous.

Refund policy

Pittsford Recreation Department is responsible for all refunds and cancellations.
