About this tournament
1 round of play
Pollination is coming up SUPER fast and I hope everyone is excited for it as I am. I have a lot of important info to disperse, so here goes.
Work Day
The next and FINAL work day is coming up this Saturday 15th (sorry for the late notice). I will be out there at 10am, We'll be focusing on finishing up any remaining teepads and cleaning up some of the messy holes still out there and any other last minute work needed to get the course into close to ready shape. If you have tools that can help with teepads please bring them. Don't forget your gloves! Message me if you have any questions
If you're coming to the work day I highly encourage you to check out the Fun and Funky Art Gallery on the way to or from the course!
The Course
The Glen Isle Disc Golf Course is going to be 24 holes, and alot of them can be fairly challenging including physically so. Thanks to BlueSky Disc Golf we have baskets on every single hole now, and while his baskets are nice... it is important to note that there are still some baskets that are maybe not completely amazing. As well, since this is a new course, please keep in mind that it's still really early in it's development... Don't expect a Bailey / Beaver level manicured course.
Getting to the course
Please carpool if possible, there is a large parking space.. but if we can limit the number of cars coming through / parking then that would be ideal. I'll put out a map with directions as we get closer.
The Weekend.
Things will kick off on Saturday morning, about 10am, where the course will be opened up to all of you to play. You'll be able to play as much as you want on Saturday, but I aim to have a doubles round start about 2pm. Saturday night if you wish to camp at the course, this is likely not going to be a normal thing, you'll be able to do so in the parking lot (field). There won't be fires but you'll be able to have a propane stove. Cost for camping will be $5 which i'll collect that evening. The ground is slightly sloping, but it should be simple enough to find flat areas. If you'd like nicer camping, please go to Glen Isles website to book.
Tournament Day
I'll start check in at about 7am where ams can pick up their player packs and there will be extra for purchase for the pro divisions, will have a players meeting at 930, and tee off at 10am. It will be a shotgun start, some players will have a bit of a hike ahead of them.. but i'm seeing what I can to get shuttles / carpools to the farthest holes. It will be a SINGLE round of 24 holes, and it will be LONG. Pack food, I will have water throughout the course. I'm expecting the round to take between 5-6 hours, I might be estimating high but we'll see.
Tournament Rules
Well behaved dogs are allowed (But please clean up after them). Smoking is not allowed. Alcohol IS allowed. Standard PDGA rules will be in effect, no 2 meter rule.
Awards
I'll be supplying 1st place trophies for all divisions. If you are in a single person division I won't force you to switch, but will encourage it.. let me know. Am's will get store credit for BlueSky Disc Golf and Pro's will of course be playin for cash.
As i'm anticipating this already being a long day i'll be trying to get divisions awards out as their divisions finish so that people can get on to getting some food / drinks.
Whew!
Thank you to Glen Isle, BlueSky Disc Golf, and DRIVE Trophies and Gifts
And thank you to all of you for choosing to spend your weekend with the Pollination!
