About this tournament
PDGA A-Tier - March 22-24, 2019
As in recent years, The Open is the week immediately following the WACO Pro Tour event. After your Waco stay is complete, just ease on down I-35 an hour or so and enjoy the central Texas and Austin scene for a few days while you prep for The Open at Belton! And remember the week following Belton is the Texas State Championships at Spring Valley (north of Houston). Plan your Texas Spring Swing now! Three top-tier pro weekends in a row: WACO / The Open / TxStates!
We again extend a huge thanks to Discraft for their title sponsorship of The Open. The jumpstart they give us each year is invaluable and we truly appreciate having the Discraft name associated with The Open. We are looking forward to lots of Team D players participating again this year along with all the other great touring pros who are working hard all year in the public eye to build the sport.
The Open kicks off it's fifth year with the installation of a new course designed especially for the event. Located on a former ball golf course adjacent to Heritage Park in Belton, The Open course features a variety of shots and holes that will challenge any pro to bring their best. It also offers a great opportunity for disc golf fans to roam this beautiful park and watch some world class disc golf. We will be making a concerted effort to bring out spectators from Belton ISD and local residents along the greater central Texas disc golf communities. Most importantly, your participation will be a positive display of the growth of the sport and encourage the city of Belton to establish a permanent course in this prime location.
Yes, there's a Par 5. There's always a Par 5 at The Open! To see the course being developed you can view our weekly updated draft maps and photos at https://www.facebook.com/pg/theopendgc19/photos/?tab=album&album_id=2545312718844689
