=====
This is a non-PDGA sanctioned club disc golf tournament that is hosted over the course of four weeks with several Northwest Ohio disc golf clubs. The purpose of this event to provide and promote fun, friendly, and healthy competition between our area clubs. The winners of this event will get their club's name engraved on the Cup along with an individual trophy!
Four area disc golf clubs, led by a Club elected captain that is elected by those registered for the event, will compete in four rounds of disc golf with each round having its own format and resulting in points that contribute to an overall event championship. The four invited clubs are:
- GAS Disc Golf (GASDG)
- Toledo Area Disc Golf (TADG)
- Findlay Disc Golf Club (FDGC)
- Swamp Hyzer Disc Golf Club (SHDG)
Each club will have 12 players on its roster with the Club captain as one of those spots. In other words, outside of the Club captain, 11 more team spots will remain. 6 of the 12 roster spots will be determined by those with the most PDGA points dating back to January 1st, 2022 through the end of the registration period (April 30th, 2023). After this the remaining 6 roster spots will be determined by Club captain discretion. The captain may then select two alternates to act as substitutes during the event.
Any player registered who is not selected to participate will receive a refund minus the Disc Golf Scene registration fee.
The four formats utilized will be Alternate Shot Paired Doubles, Best Shot Doubles, Singles Stroke Play, and Singles Match Play.
Club captains and tournament directors will meet prior to the event to determine their rosters and select their matchups throughout the event. Not only will players have to play well, but Club captains will need to strategize to provide their Club the best matchups.
Each round is 18 holes. Each round of the event will last one week to allow players to organize and complete their rounds. Club captains will work with tournament directors to select their roster and will participate in event setup.
This event will utilize UDisc for all scoring and will require players to report their scorecards to tournament directors (TDs). At the conclusion of the event, a club will be championed with a perpetual trophy and individual trophies to event winners.
The goal is for GAS Disc Golf to host this as a yearly friendly, yet competitive event between Clubs. This will not only help with developing better players in our communities, but will also help build comradery within our disc golf communities.
