I am happy to announce that MEMBERS ONLY EARLY registration for The Challenge will open THIS Friday, March 1, at 6:00 PM, and close at 6:00 PM on Sunday, March 3. General Registration will open on Monday, March 4 at 6:00 PM.
If you are NOT a 2024 HDGA member you still have an opportunity to join now (https://honoluludiscgolf.com/membership/) and be eligible for early registration for this event. When you join you will receive an email with the early registration code.
For early registration, we have set divisional limits. Once division limits are reached you will not be able to register for that division until the General registration opens on Monday, March 4 at 6:00 PM.
All 2024 HDGA members will be receiving an email today (February 28th, 2024) with an early registration code. If you do not receive this email, please let us know.
Join the Honolulu Disc Golf Association (HDGA) for the Second Annual Challenge at Ho'omaluhia. This is a PDGA C Tier event that will be held at the beautiful Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden. Come experience this challenging temporary course setup just for this event!
Where is Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden?
The Hoʻomaluhia Botanical Garden is located at 45-680 Luluku Road, Kāne'ohe, Oahu, Hawaii 96744.
The two-day event will include One round of 27 holes on Saturday and ONE round of 18 on Sunday.
The final determination of the rounds played each day will be determined at tee-off, at the discretion of the tournament director.
*Final determination of Divisions will be made before the start of the tournament. If there are fewer than 4 players in any division, that division MAY be collapsed into a related division (i.e. MA60 division could be collapsed into the MA50 division).
Scoring will be on PDGA LIVE.

Shotgun Start 10:15 am
Sunday, April 28:
Player Check-In: 9:30 am sharp at the Kahua Nui Pavilion
Shotgun start: 10:00 am
Practice Round and/or Doubles on Friday, April 26:
Practice Round: We should have the course available for practice or to hold a doubles round, by mid-afternoon on Friday, April 26 (time: TBD). It depends on how much assistance we have setting up the course. Keep checking the HDGA website (https://www.honoluludiscgolf.com), or our Facebook page closer to the event date for more details.
CAMPING WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR REGISTERED PLAYERS (FRIDAY, SATURDAY, AND SUNDAY NIGHT), ON A FIRST COME FIRST BASIS, IN CAMPSITES 26-31 AT KAHUA NUI MAKAI. WE CAN ACCOMMODATE UP TO 60 CAMPERS, AND HAVE PARKING PASSES FOR 18 CARS. PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN CAMPING SO WE CAN ADD YOUR NAME TO OUR LIST.
Parking Pass for the Weekend:
Please make sure on your way into the park to remember to pick up a parking pass for the weekend. All cars are required to have a parking pass if they are in the park after 4:00 PM. Passes will be available from the visitor center and potentially from a worker who will be assisting us from the gardens.
Gate Openings:
The gate at Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden is open daily from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm.
On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, cars with permits or car passes may use these later gate times below:
Openings:
5:30 pm – 6:30 pm (entrance and exits)
9:00 pm – 9:15 pm (for exits only)
TOP FINISHERS IN THE AMATEUR DIVISIONS WILL WIN PRIZES.
TOP FINISHERS IN THE PRO DIVISIONS WILL WIN CASH.
THE ACE POT WILL BE $5 PER DAY. IF NOBODY HITS AN ACE DURING THE OFFICIAL ROUNDS, THERE WILL BE TWO CTP THROW-OFFS FOR THE CASH.
THERE WILL BE ONE CTP EACH DAY. CTPs will be paid in PRIZES.
The Awards Ceremony will take place immediately following the event, once all scorecards have been verified.
