The 38th Japan National Disc Golf Championships will once again be held as a three-day combined professional and amateur tournament at the temporary course at Minamisoma City Equestrian Park.

The Japan National Disc Golf Championships is Japan’s premier tournament for determining the national champions. It is an important goal for players who take disc golf seriously and continually work to improve their skills.

The improvement of each player’s performance contributes to raising the overall level of the tournament. We hope that the Japan National Championships will continue to develop into an increasingly attractive event.

The special championship course awaits the challenges of many players again this year.

We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to the members of the Minamisoma Disc Golf Association, who maintain and protect the disc golf course at Minamisoma City Equestrian Park throughout the year.

All divisions will be offered with a minimum of one registered player.

Eligibility Requirements

The following requirements must be met at the time of registration.

1. Requirement for All Players

Players must hold a current PDGA Certified Rules Official credential, or an equivalent official certification recognized by the PDGA.

The certification must remain valid through the final day of the tournament, October 12, 2026.

2. Players Residing in Japan

Players residing in Japan must:

be a current JPDGA member, excluding C Membership, or a current JFDA Category A member; and

hold a current PDGA membership.

3. Players Residing Outside Japan

This category includes players residing on United States military bases in Japan.

Players must hold a current membership with the PDGA or an association or organization recognized by the PDGA.

Requirements for Junior Players Under 13

Regardless of the division entered, a player under 13 years of age must be accompanied by an adult aged 20 or older who is not participating in the tournament.

Please understand that the tournament may not be able to provide special group assignments or other special accommodations for junior players.

Awards will be presented to groups of divisions as final results are confirmed.

The number of holes, starting times, and other schedule details may be changed depending on conditions.

Practice outside the permanent-course area before the official practice day is prohibited.

For safety reasons, all tournament holes may not be available during official practice. Players must take care around general park visitors.

There will be no single awards ceremony for all players. Awards will be presented near tournament headquarters to groups of divisions as soon as the final results are confirmed.

Competition Format

Professional divisions: 18 holes × 3 rounds
Amateur and junior divisions: 18 holes × 3 rounds
Tee-time starts will be used.

Detailed competition procedures, check-in locations, schedules, and other information will be published after the list of participants has been finalized.

Participants will also receive the information by email.

Awards

Professional Divisions

Approximately the top 25 percent of players will receive awards or payouts.

Players residing in Japan who enter a professional division as JFDA Category A members will not be eligible to receive prize money.

Amateur Divisions

Approximately the top 25 percent of players will receive awards.

A player who does not attend the awards presentation without notifying the Tournament Director after the final results have been announced must contact the organizer as soon as possible to request or decline the award.

The player will be responsible for shipping costs.

If the organizer is unable to contact the player for 30 days, the award will be considered forfeited.

Rules and Approved Discs

The Official Rules of Disc Golf established by the PDGA will apply.

Only PDGA-approved discs may be used.

Champion Benefits

This tournament is a qualifying event under the invitation criteria for the PDGA Champions Cup.

The MPO and FPO champions will receive invitations from the PDGA.

The champions of MPO, FPO, MA1, and FA1 will also receive invitations to the 39th Japan National Disc Golf Championships and will be exempt from paying the entry fee.

JPDGA Points

This tournament is eligible for JPDGA points.

Players’ Meeting

There will be no players’ meeting this year.

The course map and caddie book are scheduled to be published before the tournament.

Players’ Party

There will be no players’ party this year.

Accommodation in Minamisoma is difficult to secure because another event will be held in the city during the same period. It has therefore also been difficult to secure a suitable venue for a players’ party.

Additional prizes for the recipients of the 2025 JPDGA Annual Points Ranking awards, Player of the Year awards, and Rookie of the Year awards will be distributed during tournament check-in.

Registration through Disc Golf Scene is recommended.

Web Registration

A separate web registration form is also available.

Priority Registration Period

August 5, 2026 at 9:00 PM to August 13, 2026 at 8:59 PM JST

Priority registration is available to players who finished in the top 20 percent of their respective divisions at the 37th Japan National Disc Golf Championships.

The number of eligible players will be rounded up, and ties will be included.

Players who do not register during the priority registration period must register during the general registration period.

Registration during the general registration period will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

General Registration Period

August 13, 2026 at 9:00 PM to September 18, 2026 at 11:59 PM JST

Registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Division changes will not be accepted after registration closes.

Players wishing to change divisions must contact the tournament staff during the registration period.

If registration reaches capacity, players who select the waitlist option will automatically be placed on the waitlist.

The MPO, FPO, MA1, and FA1 champions of the 37th Japan National Disc Golf Championships are invited players and are exempt from paying the entry fee.

Invited players must still complete the regular registration process during either the priority or general registration period.


Players who cancel before the registration deadline will receive a refund after bank transfer fees have been deducted.

No refunds will be issued for cancellations made after the registration deadline.

Waiver and Agreement

By participating in this tournament, I acknowledge and agree to the following terms.

Agreement to these terms is required at the time of registration.

1. Compliance with Tournament Rules

I agree to comply with all tournament policies, rules, regulations, and instructions established by the tournament organizer.

2. Consent to the Use of Images, Video, and Audio

I consent to being photographed, filmed, recorded, and interviewed by the tournament organizer, the Japan Disc Golf Association, sponsors, affiliated organizations, and members of the media, including internet, television, radio, newspapers, magazines, and social media.

I further consent to the broadcasting, including live broadcasting, distribution, publication, reproduction, public release, display, and other use of such photographs, video recordings, audio recordings, interviews, and related materials for news coverage, public relations, promotion, documentation, and marketing relating to disc golf, this tournament, and related sporting events.

3. Consent to the Management and Use of Personal Information

I consent to the tournament organizer and affiliated organizations collecting, managing, and using my personal information, including my name, age, and tournament results, to the extent necessary for tournament operations.

I also consent to such information being published or disclosed for news reporting, public relations, recordkeeping, and tournament administration purposes.

4. Health and Physical Condition

I confirm that I am responsible for managing my own health and physical condition and that I am physically fit to participate in this tournament.

I agree not to hold the tournament organizer or the Japan Disc Golf Association liable for any illness, injury, or other health-related issue that may occur during the tournament.

5. Responsibility for Personal Property and Playing Equipment

I accept full responsibility for the care and security of my personal belongings and playing equipment.

I agree not to hold the tournament organizer or the Japan Disc Golf Association liable for any loss of or damage to such property or equipment.

6. Release of Liability for Accidents and Disputes

I agree not to hold the tournament organizer or the Japan Disc Golf Association liable for any accident, incident, dispute, or other issue that may arise during the tournament, including disputes between players or between parents or guardians.

7. Changes to the Tournament Schedule or Format

I understand and agree that the tournament schedule, format, number of rounds, or other tournament details may be changed due to adverse weather, unsafe or unsuitable playing conditions, or other circumstances.

If the tournament is deemed to have been officially conducted, I agree not to request a refund of the entry fee.

8. Cancellation Costs and Refunds in the Event of Tournament Cancellation

I agree not to make any claim against the tournament organizer or the Japan Disc Golf Association for cancellation fees or other expenses incurred as a result of the cancellation of the tournament.

I also understand that entry fees paid in advance after the registration deadline are non-refundable.

If the tournament is cancelled at short notice and is not deemed to have been officially conducted, I agree that any refund will be limited to the amount remaining after tournament preparation costs and bank transfer fees have been deducted from the entry fee already paid.

Waiver for Junior Players Under 13 Years of Age

For the purposes of this waiver, a junior player means a player under 13 years of age.

When a junior player enters the tournament, the junior player’s parent or legal guardian must agree to the following terms at the time of registration.

1. Attendance During the Tournament

A parent or legal guardian of the junior player must remain at the tournament venue throughout the tournament.

The parent or guardian may be present as an accompanying adult, player, spectator, or in another appropriate capacity.

During each round, the junior player and the parent or guardian must take care not to interfere with other participants or delay the pace of play.

If inappropriate conduct by the junior player causes loss or damage to the tournament organizer or JPDGA, the parent or guardian may be required to compensate the organizer or JPDGA.

2. Accidents and Injuries

The junior player and the parent or guardian are responsible for taking appropriate precautions to prevent accidents and injuries.

If a junior player is injured during the tournament, the organizer will make reasonable efforts to provide first aid. However, no compensation beyond first aid can be provided.

Players are encouraged to obtain sports accident insurance, personal liability insurance, or equivalent insurance that includes third-party liability coverage.

If the organizer arranges for an accompanying adult to supervise a junior player, that adult will exercise appropriate care. However, the organizer and accompanying adult will not be liable for unforeseen accidents or incidents.

3. Tournament Format and Procedures

All decisions concerning tournament operations and competition procedures will be made by the tournament organizer.

The junior player and the parent or guardian agree to follow those decisions.

Such decisions may include special group assignments or a reduction in the number of rounds under certain conditions.

Final Agreement by Parent or Legal Guardian

I agree to comply with all of the terms stated above.

In permitting my child or a junior player under my guardianship to participate in this tournament, I agree to comply with all tournament rules.

I understand that the tournament organizer and JPDGA will not be liable for unforeseen accidents occurring during the period of participation, including the official practice day.

I agree not to make any claim or objection against the tournament organizer or JPDGA regarding such matters.

Players who cancel before the registration deadline will receive a refund of the entry fee, less any payment processing, transaction, or bank transfer fees. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made after the registration deadline.
