About this tournament
3 rounds of play
This is a free, unsanctioned, chaotic, holiday-themed, multiple-format, tournament consisting of three rounds of 9-holes, featuring a "White Elephant"-style mystery disc on Thanksgiving morning at Patriots Park in Evans, GA.
The event structure is based on each player bringing one PDGA-approved 'mystery disc' (that's anonymously concealed in wrapping paper or gift bag). A random drawing/lottery allows each player to pick a "White Elephant" present, containing a terrible disc that may harm/help them through rounds one & two. The tournament winner is simply the player with the least terrible (lowest) total score. Scoring & formula for rounds are detailed below:
1. Round one is a standard play, singles-format on the front nine holes, but players MUST USE with your recently acquired mandatory mystery disc for every throw.
2. Round two will see players partnered (matched based on round one's high/low scores), going down the back nine in a True Alternating Shot doubles-format, while someone on your team must make AT LEAST ONE THROW using your recently acquired mandatory mystery disc on each hole.
3. Round three will have newly restructured teams (based on combination of round one & two's scores for high/low doubles). Round #3 is also Alternating Shot/Alternating Tee team format, but players can now benefit from their full arsenal/bag/cart of discs as they stive to overcome earlier challenges or strengths. Mystery disc usage is optional for round three!
The tournament winner shall receive an astoundingly terrible trophy and shall have the (quite terrible) title of "CRSA's 2023 Okayest Disc Golfer" bestowed upon them at the terrible award ceremony. The tournament player with the most terrible (highest) final score shall receive a conciliation prize, to facilitate their future achievements & improvements to someday be not-so-terrible. There are also seven free CTP's in play during the tournament.
