About this tournament
3 rounds of play
The Taupō Thermal Throwdown is returning for its third run on the 5th and 6th of October 2024 and will again be running as a PDGA sanctioned C-Tier, True Amateur event!
Registration will be via Disc Golf Scene and will be opening July 19th for Taupō Disc Golf members and event crew, then July 22nd for everyone else. Field is capped at 96 players. Three players are required per division, so please be prepared to change if required.
Trophies will be awarded to the winners of divisions, 2nd and 3rd place medals will be awarded to all division runner ups, so be prepared to play a sudden death playoff for these positions on holes 5, 20 and 19 on loop.
True Amateur events provide 100% of net entry fees back in value to all participants through player packs, trophies and tournament amenities, so we have an awesome player pack, lunch included on Saturday and trophies or medals up for grabs for the top three in each division. Pro players with a ranking under 970 are welcome to play in a division based on the PDGA guidelines. See: Division Ratings and Points Factors for guidelines on which division you should play if you have a PDGA ranking.
There will be 60 holes played by everyone over two days at the iconic Spa Park course.
MA1 will play the Black layouts in all 3 rounds.
FA1/MA2/MA40 will play the Black then Blue then Black to finish.
FA40 will play Blue, Blue then Black on the final day
MA3, FA3 and Juniors will play the Blue 18 three times

Taupō Disc Golf is responsible for all refunds/cancellations.
REFUND POLICY
100% refund (excluding transaction and DG Scene fees) will be issued for anyone pulling out before 8pm on Friday 7th of September 2024.
50% refund (excluding transaction and DG Scene fees) will be issued for anyone pulling out before 8pm on Friday the 20th September 2024.
Any withdrawals after 8:01pm Friday the 27th of September 2024 will not be eligible for any refund.
Players may transfer their entry to another person if there is no one on the waitlist.
Waitlist players which do not gain entry to the event will receive their full refund, less dgscene and paypal fees.
Waitlist players who get promoted will have 48 hours to confirm and arrange payment before their spot is passed to the next on the waitlist.
