UPDATE: Jan 14
Good evening everyone and thank you for signing up for one or more rounds of disc golf at the stunningly beautiful Meridian Hills Golf Course this Saturday or Sunday in Surrey, BC. Including the high school and collegiate players, we currently have over 260 people playing this weekend with 331 teetimes filled which is pretty incredible! A small number of openings remain but not much is left.
We are so appreciative of the folks at Meridian Hills for opening up their course to us again this year. Let's show them again what a great group of people we are and if you get the chance, give them a thank you.
It’s shaping up to be an amazing weekend with the forecast calling for nothing but sunny skies and around 10 degrees, or 50 degrees for our neighbors more than 2km to the south of the course.
We have set up the event in Udisc so you can get more information about each hole, keep score, see how others are doing, and get a Udisc rating for your round(s). For those not familiar with the app, there is a free version you can download at the link below and it's a good idea to do this before you start your round. We will also have some paper scorecards for those who prefer to go analog for the day.

Check-In: When you arrive at the course, please check in at the event desk at least 15 minutes before your teetime to let us know you have arrived and to see if you have won one of the many random draw door prizes. You need to check-in in person to collect a prize and we have a bunch of them so don't miss out.
And speaking of prizes, we have a whack of possibilities out on the course as well.
Hole 1: A daily closest-to-the-centre-of-the-fairway contest n hole 1. Whoever has their disc land closest to the rope and, between the beginning and the end of the rope, each day, will win a cash prize of $59. If you are touching the rope, then you will measure how far the rope is to the centre of the disc and write down that distance on the marker. A tape measure will be provided.
Hole 10: The Spartan Foundation has generously put up $500 for an ace on hole 10 and we have added another $100 for a total of $600. If multiple aces are hit, then the $600 will be shared. For the person who captures the ace on their phone, there will be a great prize package so please have the video rolling to capture the excitement. Thanks to the Spartan Foundation for their continued support of our events.
Closest-to-the-Pin: There will be 8 CTP prizes each day.
Ace Bonus: Thanks to Ryan Penner of Remax Realty for putting up two MVP practice baskets for the first two people who get aces on any hole, other than hole 10. If we get more than two aces on the weekend, we’ll come up with a prize for the additional aces.
Reminder: Given the number of people playing each day, basically from sun-up to sun-down, please be mindful of the pace of play and keep close to the group in front of you. Thank-you for being mindful of this as you play.
Once the facility rental, course set up, and prize costs are covered, the remaining proceeds will be going to the Collegiate teams who will be traveling to events such as the College Disc Golf National Championships in Rock Hill, SC in April, and to the BC Junior Disc Golf Championships, also in April.
Finally, I would like to thank some additional supporters of this weekend:
Trinity Western University for having the vision to get College Disc Golf going in Canada.
Robert Dixon of Rare Discs who will be on site with a pop-up retail shop during the weekend. Make sure you have a look at what he has brought with him.
PDGA Canada for the continued support of College Disc Golf.
Sports Replay for their generous support of our college events and program since day one.
Teck and Brett Wells for helping fund great college events each year, and.....
Innova Disc Golf who 7 years ago donated 18 Pro28 baskets to the Province to help make these types of pop-up events possible - Awesome.
See ya Saturday, or Sunday!

As an extension to the full day of public tee times on Sunday, Jan 18, we are opening up some additional tee-times on Saturday, Jan 17. This is a fundraiser event for local college disc golf teams traveling to Nationals with a portion of net funds going to the 2026 BC Junior Championships. For more information and pictures of the course, see the event listing for Sunday. More tee-times may open up if collegiate and high school numbers are lower than planned.
