About this tournament

It's the North Vs. the South! Each side will have a team captain who will pair up their doubles list. YOU DO NOT NEED A PARTNER TO REGISTER. Team Captains will pair you up strategically. One round at LO and one round at Dillon. (exact format and layout to come) The team with the best top scores takes home the Rooster for the year. Part of the proceeds goes towards turf tees at Live Oak.. More Info on how it's all going to work will be coming soon.

During the course of registration, if one team becomes lopsided with numbers, some players may have to move to the other team for balance.

Proceeds of this event will go towards improvements at Live Oak Park Disc Golf Course

Each team will create a flag to represent them and declare some holes as a "battle advantage". A team that places their flag on a hole of their home course gets a mulligan on that hole for each player (doubles) for their whole team. The opposing team will place their flag on a different hole to claim their defensive advantage, which means the home team will have to take their worst shot from the tee only for that hole. The visiting army will have to throw worst shot off of the tee the home team has chosen for their offensive advantage. EXAMPLE: Playing Live Oak, the South has put their flag on hole 13 for their mulligan. Every doubles team from the South gets a mulligan from the tee (playing captain's choice doubles). The North will have the worst shot off of the tee for hole 13 since the South has placed their battle advantage flag there. The North places their defensive advantage on hole 12 where the South has to play worst shot from the tee but since the North is the visiting team they do not get Mulligans off of 12.. The home team gets first pick where to put their flag. A visiting team may not place their flag where the home team has placed theirs. They must pick a different one.

FORMAT-

ROUND ONE BATTLE: "THE SKIRMISH AT THE OAKS" (at Live Oak) Team captains pair up teammates to play best shot captain's choice with no limitations. THIS BATTLE WILL BE STROKE PLAY. Points will be scored based on how many teams you beat or tied, (including yourself). An extra hole 6B will be added to make 20 holes. Playing 2B as well. Due to 18b being too close to the parking lot, we will not play it.

ROUND TWO BATTLE: "DESTRUCTION AT DILLON" In this decisive battle, teams see more head to head "hand to hand" combat. Doubles teams will play match play with an opposing team with similar skill (ratings). ***Edit. Round 2 will be the same as Round 1. Pairings can stay the same or change.

FINAL BATTLE: Points will be totaled with a final battle at Dillon on holes 1-5. Both teams will showcase for the rest of the armies their skill by picking 5 of their players at random from a hat to play an Alternating shot finale, one for each hole. The other player can be picked by the captain for the full 5 holes.
*****Edit: Everyone's name for each team will be put in a hat. Two names will be drawn FOR EACH THROW. Once all the player's names have been chosen, the names will be reset for any remaining holes.

(Format may be tweaked and changed slightly.)

This is open to all players, not just Sumter.

Captains will mutually agree on ratings for round 2 pairings if any player does not have a rating.

All Women and players 13 and under may choose to play from any White Tee for both courses if they wish.
