Job very well done with the SpAce Race Series, Commander Compton!! Fresh idea's, well ran tourneys, great pay-outs and it seems like everybody had a bitchin' time. I look forward to the 2014 version. Congratulations to all the Peeps who entered and especially to Brent C. for conquering SpAce in style and Matt Hylton for his awesome finish in the Final RAce. Until next year SpAce Racers!!!

SpAce Race 2013! Round 8 Recap

The SpAce Race 2013! season ended like it began, with a Matt Hylton victory in the round. In this final round, Matt bested his round one victory of 19 points with a series record 27 points. The bulk of the points came on an amazing three throw sequence where Matt aced his 2nd and 3rd shots on #11 to scoop the double ace pot, followed by a first throw ace on #12. Three consecutive aces! Epic.
That final round 27 points locked up 2nd place in the series standings for Matt. Brent Cameron was the runaway winner for the season (and he also finished 3rd in the final round with 18 points). Finishing in 2nd for the day (19 points) and 3rd for the season was Dallas Trower, who also won a 2014 season pass to Horning's Hideout in a post round raffle.
Kain Tormis posted an excellent 17 point round in just his 2nd SpAce Race of the season, including an ace on #4 that I caught on film (will need some days to edit final round footage). That was good for 4th place on the day. 5th place went to Derek Daniels and SpAce Race veteran Terry Kenney, with 15 points. Those points locked up a 4th place series finish for Terry. Also winning cash and scrip on the day were Kolte Breck and 8th place series finisher Brian Hausotter. Scrip winners on the day were Robert McClurg and his disc golf buddy Kenny, who was playing in just his first SpAce Race, 10th place series winner Strangebrew Kevin Rivera, 5th place series winner Tyler Olson, and 6th place series winner Waterloo Brandon.
A special shout out to Marc Paulson who banged 3 aces in his final 2 rounds and saved my butt with his giant canopy, as rain clouds have followed me to tournaments this entire fall season, lol.

Just realized this is the same day as the bagtag finale. so needless to say i cant make it..... to the bagtag finale cuz im not missin the finale of the SpaceRace. im only 1 point behind 2nd and i still have a 6 to throw away. Maybe ill just camp and have my own bagtag finale on all three courses. whos down with me?

Galaxy's end!! Yes..I've seen and been to the Galaxy's end and back...twice!! Makes children outta men...makes babies outta women. Just let it be known in the history of our Race thru SpAce..that Commander Compton has bravely led all these worthy SpAcenauts thru a season of Ace's, Constellations, Space Invaders, Orange buckets for muffins and in general.. A GREAT LEAGUE at one of Oregons finest disc golf venues. Kudos to our eventual and well deserving Champion, Brent Cameron. Props to all who have competed and jockied for position, point by point. With the Final Event soon upon us, everyone should take the time to stop and Thank Commander Paul Compton for alot of hard work, dedication,to our sport and making some pretty damn fine events for us to enjoy. I think I smell a promotion and comendation medal or something here....
