About this tournament
2 rounds of play
Celebrating the more seasoned players in our sport, Shades of Gray is a masters only event where everyone is over 40 playing a masters appropriate course.
One round of 18 holes per day, plus one-throw CTP and putting competition extra fun events in homage to old-school frisbee overall events.
Half of the extra fun events entry fees will be donated to the official tournament charity, The Paul McBeth Foundation. Unfortunately there will not be a raffle this year.
We'll be playing a modified layout to add three temporary holes west side of original course. Updated course map will be available soon. Biggest change besides three new temp holes around pond on west side of sidewalk, we'll be playing from tee 6 to basket 8 as a 596' par 5, as well as tee 13 to basket 15 as a 472' par 4. Everything else is par 3.
Like last year, there will be hazard areas in approximately the same locations as the old ball golf sand traps. In case you weren't aware, this disc golf course used to be a 9 hole ball golf course.
Even with low registration numbers I will still have a porta-potty on site as well as two water jug stations so please bring your own refillable water bottle.
This will be a true-amater event meaning a larger players pack for all amateur divisions worth close to your net entry fee, plus the possibility of a trophy for top contenders in all am divisions.
We will be using the PDGA Live Scoring. This means your family and friends can watch your round in real time anywhere in the world by going to the PDGA event page and clicking the link for live scoring. I have videos on the event website to learn more about PDGA Live scoring if you haven't used it before or need a refresher. We'll also go over it at the players meetings.
Here is a link to the new PDGA Rules in effect for all 2024 tournaments. https://www.pdga.com/news/pdga-official-rules-disc-golf-and-competition-manual-updated-2024
I offer all divisions in the beginning then consolidate with permission from everyone involved closer to the event.
All registrations include the following pass-through fees: $6 sorta-potty rental, $10 green fees, $2 PDGA fees, $2 TD Fee.
