Welcome to the 15th Annual Saskatchewan Open Provincial Championships! We are happy to announce this event will still be taking place despite the tumultuous times we are in. This year the event is back at Murrays private course just outside Watrous, and while it may not be what we all hoped it could be we are confident you'll have a great time!
--UPDATE-- As of July 26th Saskatchewan is now ALLOWED to Sanction Disc Golf events with the PDGA, given that the event follows the rules provided in the Phase 4 Sports section within the "Re-open Saskatchewan" Plan implemented by the Province. Unfortunately with this the Province has stated clearly and often that no one outside of the province is allowed to participate in Disc Golf events within the province. Stay tuned though, as we are working with the Province to try and lift these restrictions.
There will be two rounds on Saturday, with the final round on Sunday. An online awards ceremony will be used after the final round on Sunday, and all prizes will be handed out in some form after the event.
In accordance with the Province of Saskatchewan's Re-Open plan, we must adhere to a maximum of 30 people for each 'event', or in this case Groups. We will also be looking at operating online scoring for the event, as paper scorecards are disallowed as well.
There is camping space available at Murray's! Please contact Murray to confirm space, as we again are limited to a maximum of 30 people. If camping isn't your thing, there is a lovely hotel and mineral spa not 5 minutes away from the course in Manitou Springs.
Divisions are subject to close if there are fewer than 4 participants in a division. We will do our best to offer as many divisions as possible, but as the date comes closer we may have to make some hard decisions about what can reasonably remain open. You will be notified beforehand if your division is being considered for this.
Add $10 if you don't have a PDGA membership. Why? The PDGA does alot for the sport, including providing insurance to this event so that we can operate without worry. You get lots of cool things from having a membership, so you should consider getting one! https://www.pdga.com/members/benefits
More info to follow soon!
