About this tournament
$900 added cash
2 rounds of play
Come out and play and celebrate long-time Oklahoma disc golfer Ron Bear. "The LEGEND" as I would hear Wayne Forrest say. Ron traveled the Midwest in the 80's, 90's and 2000's often bringing along his family to enjoy the sport with him. He was a great ambassador to the sport and always had time to give to a new player. He started his disc golf journey in Stillwater, OK at Boomer Lake and played an integral part in turning the course into what it is today. He mentored several players that came up in the area and always enjoyed sharing his knowledge of the game. The comradery of the game is what he enjoyed I think the most and that's what we want to do with this tournament. Bring disc golfers together and have a good time.
Some of his most notable achievements are:
4x Kansas City Wide Open-Grandmaster Champion (95,96,99,00)
2005 Oklahoma Open-Grandmasters
1999 Norman Pro/Am-Grandmasters
3x Chandler Tornado Open Champion-Grandmasters (95,96,05)
1996 Oklahoma State Champion-Grandmasters
1999 Oklahoma Flying Disc Championship-Grandmasters
This event is going to be a fun one with 2 rounds at Hoyt and raffles afterwards at El Tapatio. If anyone has played in a tournament in Stillwater these past few years you know El Tap has great Mexican food/drinks and provides a great atmosphere for everyone during and after the tournament! The restaurant will have food specials and they always look forward to the disc golfers coming to town.
$600 added to the pro purse
Millennium Disc Golf will be providing the custom discs and all Ams will receive a disc upon check-in along with some other swag.
Raffles will be after round 2 at El Tap and tickets will be available for purchase during and after the tournament. we'll have some great items to raffle off so stay tuned for updates on items that will be available. All proceeds will go to SDGC to help with funding new tee signs for Boomer.
