About this tournament
The Scholarship Shootout is back in 2025! 50% of your entry fee will be donated to the GVDG Kids Scholarship. 50% of entry will go straight to payout. Every division will be paid out in cash or PayPal dollars at our discretion. Top 30% in each division will be paid out.

This year we have a new and exciting format - READY PLAYER 2. Each player will be playing with themselves as a partner. You will get two shots, for every shot on every hole. We expect some super low scores and a bunch of aces! The ace pool is $10 to get into. If somehow no-one hits an ace, it will be donated to the scholarship fund. Two rounds will be played in this format, at two different courses.
What you need to know:
First Round - West Meadowbrook, Greenville, NC - Short to Short - all whites
9-9:30am registration
9:45am player meeting
10am first round tee off
LUNCH will be no less than 60 minutes but no more than 90 minutes.
Second Round - The Oakwood School, Greenville, NC - Shorts
The first tie breaker, prior to playoff holes for a win in a division, will be the players ace count. The second tie breaker will be total birdies on the day. If it is still tied, we will have a throw off from hole 1 at Oakwood using the following format:
Each player will throw one tee shot.
We are looking for one of the following three to occur for it to be considered in play:
Ace, Band/Basket, Pole
Ace is best, then band/basket, then pole.
Whichever player throws the best shot according to this rule set will be declared the winner. As many tee shots will be thrown as needed to determine a winner.
Award Ceremony to follow the conclusion of the second round.
These rounds should move quickly and be a ton of fun while playing for and raising money for a great cause!
