Treasure Coast Disc Golf is partnering with the St. Lucie West High School football team parent committee called “The Talon” to host a random draw doubles event on Sunday, Oct. 13 at McCarty Ranch to raise money for the St. Lucie West Centennial High School Football team.

Disc golfers will be paired with a Centennial football player for a one-round, best shot doubles event, followed by lunch provided by the parents. The cost is $35 per player with $5 for the Ace fund. (If an Ace isn’t hit – the proceeds will be donated to the football team). Payouts will be 30 percent of the proceeds with 70 percent going to the football team.

This will be an open division event, since all disc golfers will be paired with a student, who likely hasn’t played disc golf before.

Parents are working on getting discs donated to the football players to use, as well as other prizes for raffles and CTPs. Some of these discs will be donated to the club and those playing the event after the round.

This should be a great event to expose the sport to a new audience, while helping raise funds for youth sports in our community. We hope you’ll join us.

Please pre-register using Disc Golf Scene, but bring cash to pay for your entry on the day of the event. We’ll need to know how many players are coming to make sure we have enough food.
