About this tournament

Hello and thank you for joining us for Monkey Business Triples! This will serve as your player meeting.

I’d like to take a moment and thank our event sponsors. Baked, A Cookie Company has supported Chubb Disc Golf every step of the way, before Baked was even a cookie company Tim has always been a strong supporter of Chubb Disc Golf and quality disc golf in Indiana. Tim will have cookies at this event. They’re $3.00 and the best cookie you’ll eat! Tim takes cash or card, so stop by and see him and ask what’s in them. You’ll be pleased you did!

The HDGU has also been instrumental in developing strong events. They, much like Chubb Disc Golf strive to bring you the best event we can produce.

That’s only part of it. We can bring you a good event. Greatness is up to you. Together, lets have a fun day. Lets leave the course as clean or cleaner than we found it and above all, treat each other with respect and please, be nice to the TD, I do this as a labor of love. I look forward to NMMB weekend all year and can’t wait to spend the day with you. Let make this a great 5th annual Monkey Business together.

Prices

Currently most of our discs are not stickered. Prices were raised by manufactures so many times last year I got lost restickering. There are black and gold price signs on the top shelf face. There’s also a blue sign as you enter showing prices. Thanks for understanding!

Scoring.

We are following pdga standards for most of this event, what we can anyhow. If you turn in the wrong score, I have to give you the corrected score plus 2 strokes. I do not like doing this. It stings as a TD too. Count it twice. If you’re unsure do it twice. Still unsure? Count a 3rd time. I don’t want to give any team 2 strokes.

It shows pars set at 3. I know, there are par 4’s and 5’s. For your scoring it’s easier to list it all as par 3s.

Our card counting team is mostly new faces that don’t play disc golf. Sam and Olivia (My youngest two) will be helping with cards at the end but that may take a little time. When you give us space we work quickly. If you crowd the board and ask questions, it slows us down. Please, hand your card off and roll. I promise, once I know who’s what place I’ll let you know too. If you’d like to help count cards and speed it up, please let me know.

Water/ Snacks.

I’ll have water at tournament central. Please remember to bring water out with you. I will not have water on the course.

I’m being serious about packing a lunch too. This is going to be a long round. Pack a lunch and some snacks.

Important Updates

1. RED DIVISION AND MIX DIVISION Will not play risky shot on 19-27. We took a better look at it and think it would suck the fun out of it.

2. Orignally I had an idea that probably won’t be as good in practice as it looked on paper.

1st place finishes will play off for 1st place. No other places will play off.

Red and mixed divisions will play all longs and best shot on all 27 holes.

Storm Policy-

The weather keeps looking better and better. As of right now the weather service is showing a mostly clear day with a possibility of pop up showers. But, it’s Indiana. Weather changes quickly. If we have lightning within 5 miles we will suspend play. Leave a marker where your disc is and seek shelter immediately. You may hear 3 horn blasts. You may not. This is why it’s critical if you hear 3 horns you relay to the next card “Bring it in”

Extreme heavy rain may result in a 10 minute delay or whenever it slows.

For Saturday I do not anticipate it being an issue, but could be so be prepared.

Hole assignments
Your card assignment can be found at Tournament central after the player meeting at 8:35 which is mandatory and under 5 minutes. If you have a question, ask via a reply to this email. I’ll do my best to answer. During the meeting, please give me your full attention. It’s less than 5 minutes and my voice doesn’t carry far.

Please pay attention to what you grab from the board. Your score card is the only thing you should take. DO NOT TAKE THE SCOREPOINT. It makes it impossible to tally your score. If I have to hunt you down I’m going to be polite but deep down inside I’m going to think things like “If we were closer and I sent him yearly Christmas cards, I may not this year” I probably still would, but you get the idea. Be cool, don’t take the scorepoint.

We will not have water throughout the course. We will have it at Tournament central. Please grab some.

Our vend is near completion. We have a few small tweaks as we try to evolve with an ever changing climate with manufacturers. Our pricing is not on most discs. Changing every few months as manufacturers adjust pricing is a process we’re trying to do away with. So, you can find prices posted on black and gold signs throughout the vend on the upper shelf face as well as pricing right as you walk in on the right side of the vend.

Bags are not allowed in our vend. You’ll notice security cameras at our setup. I don’t like having to run them. I’m sure you probably don’t like being on them. We have dealt with an extreme amount of theft and have to mitigate it. Please, don’t smoke in or near the vend either.

Best shot is where you pick the best shot of the 3 and play from it. Your team must play from the same shot you've picked. Only one shot can be the best shot.

Risky shot is only taking one shot. Player A throws. Determine if you want to take that shot or scrap it. If player B throws, Player A's throw is no longer valid. This applies to every throw until hole'd out.

This is where it's risky.

Refund policy

There will be no refunds after registration closes July 18th nor will we add anyone else to the event.
