About this tournament

The plan for this 2 day PDGA AM Only B-Tier event is for it to quickly become one of the premier amateur tournaments in Michigan.

We are planning on a 2-3 disc player pack, free player party that will include food, beverages, entertainment, & great payouts. In addition we have some very cool hand crafted custom trophies for the winner of each division.

We are planning on playing 24 hole as such the field is limited to 96. HOWEVER... If the event fills up quickly I have plans to add in 3 more temporary holes to accommodate another 12 more players, but the event must fill up no later than 1 week before the event for this. The doubles is NOT a PDGA sanctioned event.

All divisions are $45. There will be a $5 Ace Pool and a $5 CTP 50/50. We will also have a number of CTPs out on the course as well.

This is the proposed format:

Day 1:
1 Round of 24 Holes
BYOP Michigan Amateur Championship Doubles (3 divisions) Combined ratings of 1900-1820 (Gold) 1820-1740 (Silver) 1740-Below (Bronze)
Player Party
Disc Arts Showcase (See Below For Information)
Glow Golf (Optional)

Day 2:
1 Round of 24 Holes
Final 9 Top 4 Each Division

NOTE: The doubles is an optional event & not a part of the tournament per se. It is just an activity that we will running in addition to the players party and if you wish to play in it you can. If not, you are free to do whatever else you would like for the day. It will have no standing for you in the tournament. Entry fee will be $20 per team. Gold will play for cash, Silver & Bronze will play for merchandise.

DISC ARTS SHOWCASE INFO...Presented in part by Dyeing2Throw.com

What is the Disc Arts Showcase (DAS) you may be asking yourself. With a large amount of talented disc artists in the FTF we are once again showcasing their work. This time YOU, the players & spectators at the Michigan Amateur Open will decide the best dyed discs from the areas best disc dye'rs. Yes, this will be a judged competition of sorts, divisions & entry fee's (if applicable) are as follows:

DONATION DIVISION: The name says it all, your art is your entry fee. After the DAS all donation division entries will become property of the FTF to be used as raffles, CTP's, prizes, etc. Prizes include dyeable plastic, dye supplies, & best of all CASH
MONEY from our sponsor Dyeing2Throw.com

KEEPER DIVISION OPEN: $5 entry fee & your disc will be returned after the voting is finished. CASH prizes including a minimum of $20 ADDED CASH from our awesome sponsor Dyeing2Throw.com

KEEPER DIVISON AM: FREE to enter, FREE to win. Merch prizes from FTF & Sponsors.

Accepting cash for disc dyeing does not affect your AM player status with the PDGA, this is not a sanctioned dye contest :)

Dye's will be displayed during the player party on Saturday & everyone in attendance will get a ballot to vote for their favorite in each division. I know we have a good amount of dye'rs in the FTF, break out your dye pots & unleash your creativity. The only restriction is that your disc must retain it's PDGA legal status, i.e. no paint, glitter, sequins, etc...
