About this tournament

One round per day with tee times. True Amateur event. B Tier for old pros. All entry fees include $45 greens fee. Am players pack value will exceed net entry fee. Players pack= UPF50 sublimated shirt from Discura, event stamped mini, FX4 (unreleased) and Glow PA3 from Prodigy Disc, miscellaneous other stuff.

Initially I would like to thank our sponsors- Knowledge Management Inc, Prodigy Disc, Discura and Bluechip Technologies as well as those who sponsored a hole. Also thanks to Gary and the Hutt family, Trey, and Cory for building what we feel is one of the best venues for disc golf anywhere in the world.

You must check in at event HQ for your assigned course each day a minimum of 15 minutes prior to your assigned tee time. Check in will be available beginning at 7:45 each day. It is a long ways down the Northern Neck to the Lake so allow yourself plenty of time!!!

Lair check in will be at the normal spot near the practice baskets and parking lot at 3409 Neenah Rd Montross VA 22520.

Lions check in will be near Hole 1. To access Lions enter Red Oak Nursery off of Rt 3- 22111 Kings Hwy, Montross, VA 22520. Bear right as you come in and follow the road through the nursery and about a half mile to the parking lot. When parking at the Lions we ask that you center your vehicle on one of the posts to insure freedom of movement for all involved. THE ROAD BETWEEN THE 2 PARKING LOTS WILL NOT BE OPEN DURING PLAY SO PLAN ACCORDINGLY. It is an 8 minute ride to go around from one parking lot to the other.

PDGA Live is the preferred scoring for the event. 2 players (or more) from each group should log in at pdga.com/score using the code “lake”- with multiple players in Live it becomes self correcting when there is an error.

Tee times for rounds 2 and 3 will be posted as soon as practicable following the conclusion of each day’s competition (most likely 8 o’clock or so)

There will be a taco vendor on site Friday and Saturday as well as Travelin’ Tavern with some tasty local beer for after your round. Sorry no food vendor on site on Sunday so come prepared.

Weather forecast is for extreme heat. There will be water jugs on the courses which will be well tended but it also means you need to arrive hydrated. These courses are big and strenuous and will take their toll on your body should you not be mindful of hydration. There is also some chance of a thunderstorm in the forecast- should there be lightning in the area we will sound horns and you should stop play immediately at that signal. Leave your disc/marker as is- there will be a minimum of 30 minute break and we will resume play when it is safe to do so.

Course assignments are as follows:
Friday and Sunday:
MP40, MP50, MA1, MA40- Lions Yellow (green turf except Holes 7 and 11 which are blue)
FP40, MP60- Lions Yellow Modified (hole 7 from the Red Tee down by the water and Hole 8 to the blue basket instead of the white)
All others- Lair Short (short tees on Holes 7, 9, 11, 14, 15, 16, 18)

Saturday:
MP40, MP50, MA1, MA40- Lair Long
FP40, MP60- Lair Short (short tees on Holes 7, 9, 11, 14, 15, 16, 18)
All others- Lions Yellow Modified (hole 7 from the Red Tee down by the water and Hole 8 to the blue basket instead of the white)

Ground rules and map attached to this email. I want to reinforce a couple things regarding specific ground rules however.
• Minimum relief from the lake is 2 meters and max is 3.
• Hole 1 Lions the “Valley of Doom” now plays as OB with a Drop Zone. To the right of the fairway it is closed off as a “pond”, to the left it continues past the painted arrows to infinity.
• Hole 18 Lair the yellow stakes play as a Relief Area- this means play it as if it is OB without a penalty stroke. Play from where you entered the Relief Area- NOT back along line of play- that is casual relief and not applicable in this case.
• On Holes 7,8, and 13 Lions and Holes 14 and 15 Lair player may elect to play their third shot from the Drop Zone without throwing a tee shot.

If playoffs are needed the holes will be: Lair 1,2,16-18. Lions 10,11,18.
