Be a part of history at the inaugural Lake Hāwea Links – Gladstone Open, running Fri–Sun, Feb 27–Mar 1, 2026 in the breathtaking surrounds of Lake Hāwea, South Island, NZ.

PLEASE NOTE The singles will be an NZDG sanctioned tour event and PDGA XC- Tier with four PDGA rated rounds

Practice Day / Optional Doubles
Both courses will be open for practice and optional doubles from 12pm on Friday 27th February 2026.
NB: If practicing, please give way to doubles players.

Singles
The event format is for each player to play four rounds of the awesome 18 hole Lake Hāwea course (two rounds per day on the Saturday and Sunday). This will be an PDGA XC-Tier sanctioned event but each of your rounds will be rated.

WE RECOMMEND YOU BRING PLENTY OF VERY OVERSTABLE DISCS AS IT CAN BE VERY WINDY ON THIS COURSE AT TIMES

The Course
The course will be slightly tweaked for the tournament so please scope before you throw.

There will be some B tees in place for all women except for FPO and FP40 and B tees for MA2, MA3, MA4, MA60, MA70 and junior divisions. All other divisions will play off the A tees.

We will also be putting in place astroturf and carpet teepads on flatter areas where possible on each hole.

PLEASE NOTE on hole 13 there will be an RPM Helix basket and tone hole attached to the top. You are able to hole out on this hole by the usual process and or by hitting the tone hole above the basket. We have received a waver from the PDGA to allow for this.

Player Packs
There will be a minimum $15 retail value player pack available for all competitors (professionals and amateurs). There is an option to opt out of this at registration to save yourself $15.

Food & Beverages
We are not offering the option of lunches for this tournament. We recommend you bring a wee packed lunch to enjoy amongst the majestic mountain and lake views...there is a great wee cafe and shop five minutes from the course if you need to grab some food. Drinking water will be available at HQ.

PLEASE NOTE Waitlist players who are promoted to the registration list must pay within 24 hours of receiving their email notification or will forfeit their promotion.

NB Every attempt will be made to run according to the scheduled times. If extreme weather conditions arise, we reserve the right to adjust tee off times and or reduce the number of holes played.

We also reserve the right to move players to more suitable divisions if required.

Disc Golf Wanaka Incorporated is responsible for all refunds and cancellations.

Players who officially request to withdraw from this event before 13th January 2026 (at least 45 days before the start of the event) will receive a 100% monetary refund of their entry fee (minus PayPal, discgolfscene fees and a $10 admin / refund handling fee).

Players who officially request to withdraw from this event between 14th January 2026 and 12th February 2026 (15 to 44 days before the start of this event) will receive a 100% monetary refund of their entry fee (minus $15 player pack costs, PayPal and discgolfscene fees and a $10 admin / refund handling fee) only if their spot in the tournament is filled by another player. If the player’s spot is not filled, the player will receive a 50% monetary refund.

Players who officially request to withdraw from this event on 13 February 2026 or after (within 14 days of the start of the event) will receive a 100% monetary refund (minus $15 player pack costs, PayPal and discgolfscene fees and a $10 admin / refund handling fee) only if their spot in the tournament is filled by another player. If the player’s spot is not filled, the player will receive a 25% monetary refund.

Players who request withdrawal after 20th February 2026 at 6pm (the published close of registration ) are not entitled to a refund.

Player Pack and merchandise - If you cancel your registration but would still like to receive your player pack and pre ordered merchandise, we can arrange for it to be shipped to you at an additional cost, or you can designate someone to pick it up on your behalf during the tournament please click on the staff CONTACT link in orange above.

Special Circumstances – In the event of injury, illness, or other extenuating circumstances, please contact the tournament director as soon as possible. These situations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Tournament Cancellation - In the unlikely event that the tournament is cancelled by the organisers, all registered players will receive a full refund, including processing fees.
