About this tournament

Welcome to the Houston Doubles Championship!
This tournament will be a XC-Tier event. For MA1 and FA1 Divisions this event is a USDGC Doubles Qualifying Event (details below).
Players Packs will include Custom Houston Doubles Event Hat, Disc of Choice from the mobile Pro Shop, Event Towel, and a JAYBIRDZ Chalk Bag.

ACEPOT: will be available only during event check in CASH ONLY (not pre-tournament). If Acepot is not hit we will do a CTP on 19
Tournament Format: Doubles (BYOP - Bring Your Own Partner)
Round 1: Best shot- you and your partner will both throw a shot, and play from the shot of the best of the 2. you will continue to play from the the best shot until the hole is completed by one player on your doubles team.
Round 2: Alternate Shot- You and your partner will have to alternate every shot during the entirety of the round. Example: Player 1 throws the drive, player 2 then would have to take the second shot, if the second shot results in completing the hole, then player 1 would have to throw the Tee shot on the following hole. Now if player 2 misses the 2nd shot, player 1 will have to take the 3rd shot. (whichever player completes the hole, the other player will throw the following Tee shot) you will play this way for the entirety of the round.
Course(s): We will be playing Brock Park Longs and Shorts. There may be an additional 3-6 Holes added to the event to support a larger playing field. The course will have OB, a Featured Hole including a Triple Mando, and one or two island holes. (Expect Caddy Book by 6/12/2025)

Longs: ALL Pro Divisions, MA1, MA2. (also to include Mixed man/woman Doubles Pro).
Shorts: MA3,MA4,FA1,FA2,FA3,FA4 (also to include mixed man/woman doubles AM).
If there is a playoff in any respective divisions, the play order will be temp2,3,4 on repeat best shot format until a winner is determined
USDGC Doubles Qualifier specifics:
Men (MA1)
1-14 Teams = 1 Team qualifies
15-24 Teams = 2 Teams qualify
25+ Teams = 3 Teams qualify
Women (FA1)
1-4 Teams = 1 Team qualifies
5-9 Teams = 2 Teams qualify
10+ Teams – 3 Teams qualify
Player Eligibility:
All players must meet one of the following criteria to be eligible to compete in the USDGC Doubles Main event:
The Player is not a PDGA member or does not have a player rating and has never accepted cash in a PDGA event.
The player has an Amateur Player Classification with the PDGA - meaning the player is classified as an amateur and plays in amateur divisions for prizes instead of cash. If a player plays in a Pro division and accepts cash at any time, they become classified as a Professional member. An Amateur class player has either never accepted cash, or if they have, they have later met the criteria to be reclassified from Professional back to Amateur with the PDGA.
A mixed group of pro and am-class players is not allowed.
Players who qualify as a team must play together as a team in the main event. No substitutions, no exceptions.
All qualified players must register online by Sunday, September 10th. No exceptions.
Only top Amateur divisions will qualify for an invitation to USDGC. **
132 Players MAX (66 teams) We will have division caps for some of the divisions to allow for participation, CAPS WILL be adjusted based on participation and demand.
Trophies will only be available for divisions with 3 teams or more. If a division has more than 8 teams a second place trophy will get added. trophies will be ordered 1 week prior to the event. *
Fee Breakdown:

$6 per team to PDGA
$4 per team to Parks/Insurance
$60 per team for players packs
$0 per person to Trophies, thanks to sponsors

Refund policy
For cancelations 72 hours before event check-in start time will receive a full refund minus registration fees with a written email notice to [email redacted].
For cancelations 24 hours before event check-in start time will receive a full refund minus registration fees ONLY if the players spot can be filled with alternate player with a written email notice to [email redacted].
Any cancelations within 24 hours of event will receive merchandise credit at the vendors discretion.
No refunds for Forfeit/No shows
No refunds after Wednesday 9am

**Refunds can be made under certain circumstances at the discretion of the Tournament Director case by case basis
