Thank you all for sigining up for the fourth annual Honey Bee Open!
These are the official players meeting notes. We will still meet before the event to talk briefly and allow for questions. In order to ensure we have ample time to play the event and get home at a reasonable time, please be prompt. (Round 2 start time is TBD based on when the last card finishes. Ask the TD's for the official start time of round 2)
The course will be available for open practice on Saturday starting at 10am.
Check-in is from 8-8:30am which will be followed by a brief players meeting.
Tee time for the first round will be at 8:50am. Keep an eye on your clock. The first player on the card should be ready to tee at 8:50.
At this time, all cards have been set and your starting holes can be seen on the results page for the event here:
https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/70610
Scoring will be done with digital scorecards via pdga.com/live.
Access Code = hbo4
At least two players must keep score during the round.
Don and Beth generously offer their property to us so that we can enjoy competing in the sport that we all love. They do this out of the kindness of their hearts and to share the gem of a property they have with us disc golfers. With that, there are a few simple courtesy rules to follow.
The property is carry-in, carry-out. Please do not litter on the course! Do not intentionally break branches and ultimately just be respectful of the property.
All mixed divisions will be playing the original layout from the tee pads. All female divisions will be playing the short layout. The short layout will be marked with flags and paint for the teeing area. The short holes for the female divisions are holes 2, 3, 6, 8, 9, 12, 14, 16, and 17.
Please refer to the live scorecards for details about OB's. The live scorecard information supercedes what is posted in these notes.
Hole 1 - OB - Surrounded by water
Hole 2 - OB - Inside of the garden, marked by paint/flags, or surrounded by water
Hole 3 - No OB
Hole 4 - No OB - There is an area in the middle of the fairway marked with ribbon and stakes. If your disc lands in this area, take casual relief per rule 806.03
Hole 5 through 8 - No OB
Hole 9 - Surrounded by water. The dock is considered in-bounds from the walking surface and up. If your disc passes over the dock and never crosses land, you must play your lie with penalty from the dock.
Hole 10 through 17 - No OB
Hole 18 - Surrounded by water
After round 1 is complete, BOTH scorekeepers must verify and confirm the scores with the players on their card. This is very important and must be completed! We will then break for lunch. Round 2 will start 1 hour after the last scorecard is turned in.
If you have any questions, please feel free to respond to this email, bring them up at tournament central, or ask during the players meeting.
I'm looking foward to seeing everyone this weekend!
