HILLCREST FARM - CANADA DAY CLASSIC '21 - TOURNAMENT UPDATE
With Canada day only weeks away, its time to start thinking about the Canada Day Tournament. Seeing we are still in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic we will be taking extra safety precautions and structuring things in a way to avoid gatherings of large crowds and keeping co-horts by divisions and staggering people accordingly.
This year we will be doing a tiered registration. There will be 4 divisions offered, with the winners of each taking home prizes. This will be a 1 round event, with a playoff for the top 4 players from each division having an extra 4 hole playoff after lunch that will be provided by the Best family. The 4 divisions will consist of MPO, MA1, FA1 and MA2 (junior/rec). All divisions will play their first round from the Red tee pads. MPO and MA1 will both play from the Blue tee pads for their playoff, and FA1/REC will play from the Reds for their playoff to decide the winner(s).
Registration will open on Friday June 18th, and this will be for all current stewards interested in playing. Registration for stewards will be opened from June 18-22nd. Registration will be open to the general public and those that are not stewards of the course on June 23rd and run until 5pm June 30th.
We may need to put on a cap of the numbers of players to adhere to public health guidelines, and this may fill up quickly, so if you're excited to play this annual event again, register as soon as possible so you don't miss out.
As in the past, the Best family enjoy cooking up a tasty lunch for the players and this will be included in the price of registration. There will also be a 2 tier pricing for the event this year, to help cover costs. For stewards the cost will be $25, which includes lunch and prizes. The 2nd tier will be for non-stewards, and there will be an additional cost of $5, so $30 total, which covers the cost for the use of the course for the day, along with lunch and prizes. We will also have the option for an ace pot.
This has always been a really fun day and we've had a great turnout each year. And the lunch is always amazing and to die for. We hope to see you out there to start the kick off of Canada Day celebrations.
