About this tournament

Spring is coming and danger lies in wait for any who venture beyond the fairway. This is Game of Thorns.... Doubles!
Game of Thorns is a premiere 2 round disc golf tournament at Creekside Disc Golf Course in Farmington, AR. Grab a partner and be ready for a true doubles competition. Players will compete in 4 different doubles formats: Best Shot, Best Score, Alternating, and Worst Shot. Champions will be crowned after 36 holes. Find a partner and try your hand at the throne. Wait... thorn? I don't know, let's play disc golf!!
We are grateful to be back for a 4th year at the beautiful Creekside Park. Thanks go out to the Farmington Parks department for always maintaining a pristine disc golf course and welcoming events such as this. Also thanks to you, the players, for making it possible to keep Game of Thorns going strong!
This year we are adding CTP's to just about every hole! Players even get CTP mulligans for extra chances to win those sweet prizes!
Doubles Formats
Round 1 - 18 Holes Best Shot
Each team chooses which lie they play. Classic scramble golf. May the birdies abound!
Round 2 - 6-6-6
Holes 1-6: Best Score
Each player completes the hole solo. The team then takes the better of the two results. Call in the ringer.
Holes 7-12: Alternating
Teammates will alternate throws. Player A tees off. Player B throws the upshot. Player A attempts the putt. Some would argue the hardest form of partner golf.
Holes 13-18: Worst Shot
The team will play from whichever lie is determined to be the worst by the opposing team on the card. This can get nasty.

Divisions
Pro: The highest level. Payout will be in cash.
Pro Mixed: Teams with 1 male and 1 female player. Payout in cash.
Pro Masters: Teams 40+ years in age. Payout in cash.
Advanced: Upper level amateur players. Payout in merchandise credit.
Amateur Masters: Amateur Teams 40+ years in age. Payout is in merchandise credit.
Experienced: Mid-level players who are not new to disc golf. Payout is in merchandise credit.
Beginner: Brand new and less experienced players.
Amateur Mixed: Amateur teams with 1 male player and 1 female player. Payout is in merchandise credit.

Closest To Pin Prizes & CTP Mulligans
We will have Closest To Pin prizes up for grabs throughout the event! Some will be division specific, some will have a twist!
Fun CTP Variants
Players may take a shot in addition to their official competition throw to try for the CTP. These CTP shots will not count for competition, ONLY for the CTP contest
We plan to have a CTP prize on all holes during round 1. We will post some prizes to the event Facebook Page (linked below) as we add them to play.
Payout and Trophies
Pros will play for straight up cash!
Pro division payout will be top heavy and will pay the top 3rd of each division.
Amateur divisions are awarded merchandise credit redeemable at the on-site Disc Golf Dojo proshop. Am payout will also be top heavy and will pay the top 40% of teams.
Top Heavy means that 1st place will win the a large amount of the total purse
There will be no trophies for this event due to low preregistration numbers. Winners will instead get an extra $25 store credit each to spend on whatever they'd like
