I wanted to use both courses for this event, and after spending a lot of time working on the new course it is still not ready for action. I think we will be able to have a fundraising event there in early July, but there is still a lot of work to be done before it is ready. That coupled with the incredibly underwhelming response to the registration for this event generally speaking I am going to postpone this doubles event indefinitely. I will likely reschedule it for later in the year, but for now it's off.

It is easy to see the lack of interest obviously, and I have ZERO desire in wasting my time attempting to run an event that nobody wants to participate in.

This is the first edition of Ft Worth Doubles. It will be an annual event going forward. It is a pick your partner event. This year's edition will be a 2-round event. We will use 4 different doubles formats over the 2 rounds. You will play one round each day. We will use both The Mighty Z and The Eazy Z (the new course north of the train tracks at Z Boaz) for this event. We will use shotgun starts for both rounds and they will start at 10am each day. Everyone will play one round per day.

There will be a cap, if necessary, of 36 teams per pool. Also, if necessary, we will have a pool playing The Mighty Z and The Eazy Z at the same time depending on the attendance.

We will use The Eazy Z for "The Evil Format". Holes 1 through 6 playing best disc in which all players play singles recording the best individual score for the team. Holes 7 through 12 are alternate shot in which the team decides who throws first on hole 7 (one tee shot per hole per team) and then the team alternates shots through the completion of hole 12. In this format every shot in the 6 holes alternates. If your team starts the round on hole 9 you decide who goes first, then you alternate through hole 12 making a note of who will tee off first when you get back to hole 7 and start that format again to finish out your teams round. Holes 13 through 18 you will play 6 holes of worst shot. In this format your competitors will decide which is the worst shot if it isn't obvious, and that is the lie your team plays from. To finish the hole, you both have to make the putt for it to be completed even if you miss from 10 feet.

We will use The Mighty Z for standard best shot doubles. Obviously in this format both players tee off and you both play from the best shot through the entire round.

There will be a brief player meeting, so we can make sure everyone is aware of the formats etc. Awards will follow the second round. We will use a shotgun start for both rounds.
