About this tournament

WELCOME
The 2026 Climate Best Open, an homage to Redwood City's famous slogan "Climate Best by Government Test," is the jubilant return of a PDGA-sanctioned tournament to the Peninsula for the first time in three years.
Being held on Saturday, August 22, this 1-day, 2-round, C-tier tournament is a celebration of the Peninsula Disc Golf Club becoming a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, elevating the club's status within the eyes of the local community. The Climate Best Open will be a shotgun start.
PDGC's mission is to foster a safe, inclusive, and welcoming community through our disc golf activities and events. Disc golf is for everyone. We strive to showcase that in everything we do.
Emerald Hills Golf Course will be the setting for this event. The layouts will feature a combination of Emerald Hill's iconic holes from the permanent course plus several tournament-specific holes designed to showcase the talent of all our players.

The Climate Best Open will feature three layouts. The division breakdown by pool will be as follows:
Pool A: MPO, MP40, MP50, MA1
Pool B: FPO, FP40, FP50, FA1, MA40, MA50, MA2, MA3
Pool C: FA40, FA50, FA2, FA3, all junior divisions

- Greens fees: $87 + insurance
- PDGA sanctioning fee: $1
- PDGA player fee: $3

PLAYERS PACKS
Players packs are an optional add-on for all players for the Climate Best Open. PDGC will order players packs from Trash Panda to commemorate the tournament. The players pack will include a tournament-stamped disc, a mini, and a tote bag. The cost for the players pack is $20. Please mark that you would like to receive the players pack in your registration. The deadline for submitting payment for the players pack is August 2.

ACE POT
You can sign up for the tournament ace pot by including $5 in your registration. Participation in the ace pot is optional.
If the ace pot is not hit during tournament play, there will be a post round CTP among those that paid into the ace pot using a temp tee and the blue practice basket. The ace pot will be divided 60%, 30%, 10% rounded to the nearest dollar among the three closest participants.

The Peninsula Disc Golf Club is responsible for all refunds and cancellations. Refunds will be issued in accordance with the PDGA's Competition Manual Rule 1.03 (https://www.pdga.com/rules/competition-manual/103).
