About this tournament
Please read this carefully so that we have as few hiccups as possible.
Tournament Payment:
All Teams will pay in CASH when they check-in on Saturday morning. No electronic payment will be accepted. Please try and bring as close to exact change as possible.
Open Divisions: $200
AM Divisions: $120
Tournament Central:
Unfortunately this year the clubhouse is occupied and cannot be used. We will be moving Tournament Central to the picnic area (Apache) located to the left of Hole 1 (Main Course) on the road that takes you to the Mohawk Course. Across the street from bathrooms and play structure.
When you arrive on both Saturday and Sunday. ALL TEAMS will check in at the picnic area at the location noted above to pick up their card. Teams cannot send someone else in their place to check in. There you will find a leaderboard with your hole assignments for both rounds that day. Once you check-in, go warm up and wait for the round to start on your assigned hole.
Starting Holes and Scorekeeping:
At Tournament Central, you will find a leaderboard set up with all teams and their starting holes for both rounds that day. On Saturday, If you start Round One on Hole 1 at Mohawk Course, then you start on Hole 1 for the second round at the Main Course. This means you play with the same group for both rounds on Saturday and Sunday. At the end of round one, cards will be turned back into Tournament Central, and cards and groups will be rearranged for Sunday. The exact same process will be used for Sunday’s rounds
Start Times:
Teams will be expected to be at their starting hole for all four rounds at the start time designated on the schedule. This means no player meetings before the rounds. Just be at your hole after you check in. All round start times and courses are on the tournament page on Discgolfscene. Check-in is only necessary for the beginnings of each day.
Formats:
Best Shot: Both players throw from each lie (starting with the tee shot), then the team chooses which of the resulting lies to continue play from, until the hole is completed.
Alternate Shot (Modified): Both players throw a tee shot. The team then decides which lie to play from, and alternates shots until the hole is completed.
Example: Player A and B throw drives. Player A’s Drive was chosen as the best lie. Player B would then throw the next shot. If necessary, Player A would then putt. Once the hole is complete, the process starts over on the next hole.
The main reason for this modified version of Alternate shot is to allow for both players to drive on each hole. Other than that, it’s regular Alternate Shot.
.
Payouts
As is tradition for the Double Take, this is a high stakes cash game. Limited spots are paid in each field. Payouts will be determined and posted before the start of play on Saturday.
Rules
Even though this is not a sanctioned PDGA event, we will still be using all the rules of play. The one exception being drinking, and legal adult activities are allowed. If any groups misplay the formats, 2 strokes will be given for each hole misplayed.
Rule sheets will be attached to an email before the start of the tournament. They will also be attached to each clipboard that goes out.
All divisions must have at least three teams.
Cancellations:
If your team cannot make it please let me know either through Discgolfscene, phone or text! I do all this pretty much by myself and it would be a huge help if you don't no-show day of. I am playing too, and want to keep this shit as smooth as possible. Thank you.
$10 will be taken from each entry for a donation back to the County of SB.
