Good morning again. I wanted to write this as a second message so it didn't get lost in the players email.

This information has been posted several places, but I wanted to make sure I sent this again since this is the first event of this new series/concept. If you decide you want to adjust your division to have a chance to qualify, all you have to do is to go the event for Saturday (https://www.discgolfscene.com/tournaments/Crossovers_Frosty_Fling_8_2024), go to players tab, click edit and adjust your division.

Crossover is proud to present this year: The Crossover Local Tour Series 2024. We will call it the COLT Series for short. This will be a series of events that are just normal Crossover events for some, but qualifiers for others. We feel like we want to try to reward the PRO/advanced/upper players in the area, as well as try to grow the age protected AM groups.

For the Pro/Open players, they have a chance to qualify for the COLT Finale on 9/28. It will be a B-Tier with a minimum of $750 added cash. For the MA1/FA1 players, this gives a chance to grow this division to have something to play for as well if they qualify. And lastly, we have a large number of AM players who are Masters eligible, that stay in the other divisions. Which is fine. We hope that this will encourage them to at least give the age protected divisions a chance. For all AM's the COLT Finale will also be a B-Tier as well on 9/28.

Bottomline, we want to reward the pros who finish at the top locally, and also to help grow the MA1/FA1 and age protected AM divisions if possible. Next year, if this is a success, we could look at other divisions/options. Again, we have no clue if this will work or not. There is nothing around to compare it to for us to see what we are getting in to.

So how does one qualify? Obviously, the COLT Finale is for the cream of the crop. In each of the events that are labeled "COLT" at the end, that means for all Open divisions, MA1/FA1 and age protected AM's, if they finish in the top 20% of their division, they will be added in to the finale. You don't have to play every event that is a COLT event. Obviously the more you play, the more chances you have to qualify, and/or selfishly limit the field for the finale by finishing in the top 20% if you have already qualified.

Here are the numbers to qualify per division in each event. This represents the top 20%:
1 to 5 players qualifies 1
6 to 12 players qualifies 2
13 to 17 players qualifies 3
18 to 22 players qualifies 4
23 to 27 players qualifies 5
28 to 32 players qualifies 6
33 to 37 players qualifies 7
38 to 42 players qualifies 8
43 to 47 players qualifies 9
48 to 52 players qualifies 10
in the event of tie, players would qualify
if the chart says 2 qualify, but say there was 1st place and 2 way tie for 2nd, they’d all 3 qualify
It’s # of players not finishing position

To make sure we are clear, the divisions are:
-Open Divisions Male/Female - MPO/FPO, MP40/FP40, MP50/FP50, MP60/FP60, MP70/FP70
-MA1/FA1
-Age protected AM's - MA40/FA40, MA50/FA50, MA60/FA60, MA70/FA70

If you qualify for more than one division, you can select which you want in the finale. Also PDGA division guidelines apply. So an AM can try to qualify in MPO, and Pros under 970 rated can play AM divisions they are eligible for per PDGA chart.

These divisions will have an extra window to sign up before opened to the rest for all COLT events. There will also be a minimum of $150 added to Open divisions.

Well that's the best I have at this time. Everyone is eligible for the COLT series. It might mean playing up in MA1/FA1 to qualify, or playing age protected AM's, but everyone has a chance to qualify.

Good morning!

I wanted to get this tournament email out this morning. I am super excited about the upcoming Frosty Fling #7 at Idlewild on Saturday 3/9. This will be a 1 round PDGA C-tier that will shotgun start at 10a. This will be our first of many events at Idlewild, and we couldn't be more excited.

As I say often, 5 TD's would run an event at the same course 5 different ways, and that is perfectly OK.
Here is how we are playing it. Please refer to this link. It will also be in PDGA live. Please note we are playing the creek (minus hole 3) as OB surrounded by water. The link has the way we are playing bridges. Holes 20 and 22 might be the most confusing. Hole 20 is the original tee pad not the FPO. We will have arrows painted. Hole 22 is the FPO tee pad. Once you past the long, you are there. We will be playing the long basket on this hole. All other holes will be short baskets. We are playing 24 holes with no temps added. It should be a fun and challenging day for everyone. The course always flows well, as long as players do their part to help this. Use spotters on blind shots. The few seconds it takes to send a spotter, can save minutes on each hole.

We will be set up in the shelter that is in between hole 7. I can't stress enough, please take the short amount of time to physically check in with us. This helps us make sure that everyone is here, and there are no holes with less than 3 players. It might not seem like a big deal to you, but it causes us issues trying to figure out if you are present or not. Thank you in advance for this! In the case that someone doesn't show up and your card has less than 3 at tee off, you will have to grab a player from a card near by. If everyone checks in, this shouldn't be an issue. Per PDGA you are supposed to check in, or can be deleted from the event.

Cards will be made up with pace of play in mind. Some cards will be mixed based on numbers in divisions. We've learned over the years that sometimes a card of 5 is equal to the card of 3 or 4 based on skill level for pace of play. We'd rather the flow remain consistent, then have people standing around waiting.

Also, just a reminder, that any junior younger than 13 must have a parent/guardian on their card. There are many juniors now signing up in non-junior divisions, so we don't always catch this beforehand. Please advise and follow the PDGA guidelines on junior players.

We are not going to have a players meeting. It is your responsibility to know what's expected for the day and be at your hole for the start of each round. Also remember, everyone needs to keep score per PDGA this year.

Following the round, please give us a few minutes to get everything organized so we can hand out awards and payouts. If you are curious if you are going to get a payout, it is the top 40% per division by the PDGA. That will help you determine if you need/want to stick around. The Open players will receive cash/PayPal, and the AM's Crossover Cash. This can be exchanged for disc golf merchandise that we will have on hand.

For those who are in the ACE fund, if no ACE is hit, we will NOT do a throw off. All Ace Funds in the series will be donated to the North Dearborn Pantry.

In the event there is a tie for first place in a division, the playoff will start on hole #1 until there is a winner, playing the layout from round 1.

This is a PDGA event, so everyone should be up to date on the PDGA's stance on what is legal and what is not legal. Please don't put us in position to make a call that we don't want to address, or should have to address.
