About this tournament
The MVP Space Race is back with two new Eclipse discs! Register today to be among the first to get your hands on the MVP Eclipse Atom and the Axiom Particle Eclipse Crave.
Space Race – Rules & Format
The Space Race is a fast, fun, ace-focused glow event where every throw counts.
Divisions
Choose your division at check-in or let us know in advance by replying to this email:
• Beginner
• Intermediate
• Expert
(Divisions will be color-coded on the course for easy reference, and each division will have its own standings and prizes.)
Scoring (per throw)
• Ace (hole-in-one): 10 points (no putt from that disc)
• Chains (no ace): 5 points
• Metal (band/cage/basket): 3 points
• Miss: 0 points
• Bonus putt: +1 point (only one attempt per hole total)
Format
• Throw both event discs from the tee of your division (color-coded) on every hole.
• After both tee shots, you get one bonus putt attempt (+1 if made):
• Take it from your closest lie (or the lie of your choice).
• If one disc aces, you still get your bonus putt—but it must be from the other (non-ace) disc.
• If both discs ace, no bonus putt is taken.
• Finishing out your hole: After the official Space Race scoring is complete, you may finish the hole out for UDisc scoring. No additional Space Race points will be awarded, but this helps keep full-round stats and supports fundraising for the Paul McBeth Foundation “Throw for More” charity event taking place the same day.
• Rounds: Everyone plays Round 1. Round 2 is optional — if you play it, only your best single round counts toward your final score.
Scoring Examples
• Ace + Miss + made putt = 11
• Ace + Chains + made putt (putt from chains lie) = 16
• Ace + Ace = 20 (no putt)
• Chains + Metal + missed putt = 8
• Metal + Miss + made putt = 4
• Miss + Miss + made putt = 1
• Miss + Miss + missed putt = 0
Hole score = both throws + one putt.
Event score = your best round total.
Tie Breakers
Tie-breaker format will be announced at the event.
Supper & Schedule
• Supper available for purchase before the round from Sandugo Bistro.
• Event Day Schedule:
• Player Check-In: 5:30 – 6:30 PM
• Player Meeting: 6:45 PM
• Shotgun Start: 7:00 PM-ish (or as soon as the sun sets)
Extra Fun
At the end of the event, we’ll hold a Ring of Fire CTP Competition for additional prizes — and possibly more fun challenges TBA.
