Good morning Tournament players,
Black Friday Cancellation
As you may have already heard, I've made the decision to cancel both Black Friday events in 2020. This is due to the State Guidelines as a response to the significant increase in cases of COVID-19.
The announcement last week specificially calls out group activities, and while Golf is still acceptable, it calls out gathering of people from different households, and specifically prohibits tournaments and events of any sort.
2021 plans
I am currently planning to run 4 events next year. I've heard the feedback both ways around my decision to change the format for Black Friday from two rounds to separate tournaments with one round each. My plan for 2021 is to open registration 3 months before the event dates; with a committment to keep the announced format unchanged. I reserve the right to increase registration caps based on conditions. Here are my planned tournaments which will be registered with the PDGA this week.
Hyzer Holiday, Memorial Day, May 31st 2 Rounds-90 player cap, Coon Rapids/Riverfront
Springvale Showdown, June 19th 2 rounds-90 player cap. Players pack for Am players, Springvale County Park
Knightmare at Knox Hill, October 30th, 1 round of 18+ holes (TBD). Coon Rapids
Black Friday, November 26th, 2 rounds-72 player cap, Coon Rapids
Cost for events will remain the same; $50 open/$40 Adv/$30 all other divisions with a $10 decrease in entries for the Knightmare at Knox Hill event ($40/$30/$20)
Black Friday Refunds
I offer you a few options for refunds for the event. My plan is to run the same 4 events in 2021; with registration for said events opening up 3 months before the event. If you'd like to roll your entry into any of these events, please let me know and I will apply your entry fee to that event; if the event cost is different than what you've paid, you will be responsible for the increased cost; if it is less, I will refund that change when I transfer your entry.
Do nothing-I will refund your entry fee within the next xxx days as allowed per the PDGA guidelines.
