About the event
Welcome to the Big Blue Brawl! The University of Kentucky Disc Golf team is hosting this college style fundraiser tournament so everyone can get a chance to play college doubles! The Big Blue Brawl will follow a traditional 1-day, 2-round college format, with one round of singles and one round of team doubles.
This event is also a Bluegrass Conference event for college teams. College teams will compete separate from other divisions, but you will get to see how you stack up against Kentucky's best college competition!
Competition format
Teams will need to form a group of 4 people in order to play this tournament. Everyone will play a round of SINGLES and a round of TEAM DOUBLES.
Each team's 4 singles scores will be averaged and combined with their team doubles score to determine the winner. The open (OPEN) and college (CDG) divisions will play singles together and capped (CAP) will singles by theirselves,
What is team doubles? Team doubles (AKA college doubles) is played with 4 people, 2 pairs of 2. One pair (ODD) will tee off on odd holes and the other (EVEN) will tee off on even holes. Teams then play alternate until the hole is finished out.
College Disc Golf describes team competition here, with a great video as well: https://collegediscgolf.com/nationalchampionship/rules/
Teams can compete with 3 people but will be at a severe disadvantage. In singles, the 4th singles score will be the worst score in the division plus two strokes, per College Disc Golf rules. In Team Doubles, one person will have to throw alone. 3 person teams will still have $100 entry fee.
Entry Fee Breakdown
$100/team ($25/person), where $60 ($15/person) goes to CASH payout and $40 ($10/person) goes to UKDG.
For every 3 teams, we will pay out CASH to 1 place in the Open and Capped divisions. For example, 9 teams in a division will pay out to 3rd place.
Additional items per person (can be purchased the morning of the tournament):
-$2 ACE pool. If no ace is hit, all money will go to the UKDG Team.
-$5 50/50 CTP. 50% of CTP pool goes to club, 50% of CTP Pool goes to 3 cash CTPs.
-$5 Mulligans! 3 mulligans for $5 or 1 mulligan for $2. Max 3 per round, per person.
College players will be allowed to purchase, compete and use additional items (ace, CTP, mulligans).
