About this tournament
1 round of play
I’ve wanted to do this for a long time, and I am excited that I am finally able to host an event at my house. It will be a non-sanctioned fundraiser event to benefit the upcoming BHMO and Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The field is going to be limited to 60 players so don’t wait to sign up.
THE COURSE:
This event will be a rare opportunity to play a unique private course in Blacklick. It is a temporary course with different layouts that is always changing. For this event, we will be playing a 10-hole, par-3 layout that everyone will play through twice for a total of 20 holes. The layout is fun for all skill levels with the longest hole playing about 300 feet. The course is truly unlike any other in the Central Ohio area with a little bit of everything: significant elevation changes, low ceiling shots, beautiful creek-side greens, tunnel shots, and a hanging basket. I plan on providing more course information in the coming weeks including pictures and maybe a video once the leaves start growing in.
There is somewhat limited parking on the property, but there is plenty of parking directly across the street at Blacklick Elementary. Regardless, carpooling is encouraged.
THE FORMAT:
The format for this event is going to be different. First off, there will one be one division with a $50 entry fee per person. Everyone will only be competing against the other players on their card. I will do my best to accommodate any requests for people that want to play together on the same card. Leave a comment or send me a message with any requests. Otherwise, the 4 highest rated players for each tee time will be assigned to the same card to play against each other with everyone else being randomly assigned to a card. This should keep things fair and competitive for everyone.
There will be 3 tee times available: 9:00am, 12:00pm, and 3:00pm. We will do a shotgun start for each tee time with a group starting on every other hole. That means there will be up to 5 groups of 4 playing the course at a time (20 spots available per tee time).
THE PAYOUT:
The lowest score on each card will win $100. Second place on each card will win a new disc. The prize discs will include collectable discs, OOP, dyed, signature series, unique stamps, and stock discs. All ties will have a CTP throw-off to determine 1st and 2nd place on the card. CTP prizes will be up for grabs for each tee time as well. At the end of the day, at least half of the field will walk away with something.
Additionally, the person who shoots the lowest score on the 10-hole layout during each tee time will win $50, even if that person does not place 1st or 2nd on their card.
Finally, some homemade snacks and drinks will be available for purchase with all proceeds going to the BHMO and Leukemia and Lymphoma Society so bring a few extra dollars if you’re playing.
I hope everyone considers coming out to play a special course for a good cause.
